The Planet Express Ship runs into a familiar ship in low Kerbin orbit!

Planet Express SSTO, aesthetics, functionality, utility.

Open the bay doors to reveal a tiny satelite, or load your own!

Sadly, the Dark Matter Engine has been replaced with 4 Rapiers

and a backup monoprop system (Kerbal Technology). You

can drive her as long as The Professor is taking his nap! Have fun!

**Flight Note** The main cockpit is angled slightly down, control from probe core inside cargo bay for accurate heading. **/end flight note**

  2. @GraviTykillz Wow! Thanks for a whole review. Means a lot. Yea you are right, she's a little ...different to fly. I uploaded her to Kerbalx with the max amount of fuel possible, though when I want to take off straight from runway to orbit, I reduce the fuel by almost half and balance the CoM just in front of CoL. The huge array of monoprops up front is more of an aesthetic touch, RCS is not needed at all for normal atmospheric flight. The craft pulls up quite a bit and the only major flaw I can find is landing with almost empty fuel, you sometimes have to spiral down but she can always land safely with some finesse

Down below is a GIF of her parking skills  :P

They told me VTOL parking only.

She seats 4, can withstand de-orbit using radiators, shes flyable,

landable and can even split apart to 3 separate controllable crafts.

She's down and dirty and she makes no claims to be anything but,

The Best Interplanetary Tow Service this Side of Jool. Enjoy folks!

neat! What mods if any are used?

The only mods I use with The TK-2 are MechJeb  or Kerbal Engineer for information readouts. All stock parts, feel free to check her out at my hangar (.craft file)!

It looks stock, as far as I can tell. Can't see the engines very well, but from what little I can see, they look stock too.

The engines are 4 mainsail assisted by 12 nuclear engines

Actually, it's pretty easy-- you just have to be careful with your design, and think small.

I usually don't do a lot of that sort of mission, other than maybe one or two in early career for an infusion of cash and reputation.  However, I've found that it's not too hard to build a small jet + rocket plane that can get pretty much anywhere it needs to.

Make a very small, light plane powered by a couple of Junos, and include a 2-ton tank of LFO with a Terrier.  Emphasis on "small".  You want to keep it as tiny and light as you can:  basically, just a Mk1 cockpit with the 2-tonner and Terrier behind it, a couple of Junos with Mk0 tanks on the sides, and then wings / gear; that's basically it.  If you're going over 5 tons or so, you're too heavy.

The Junos are so fuel-efficient that they can fly you a long distance from KSC with minimal fuel requirement.  When you get to the target site, you're flying at the Junos' operational ceiling, up around 10-12 km, which is high enough that the Terrier gets very close to its vacuum Isp (which is excellent).  So at that point, you just point your nose at the sky and kick the Terrier in the pants.

A Terrier pushing a small plane with 2 tons of propellant packs quite a lot of dV, and can pop your altitude pretty much as high as you like.  (For example, if your total plane mass is 5 tons, a Terrier with 2 tons of propellant will get you over 1700 m/s of dV, plenty enough to get to the top of the atmosphere.)  Loft up to the target altitude, snag the contract, fall back to where the Junos can kick in again; then fly back home.

    (Also, moving to Gameplay Questions.)

I was gonna comment a similar explanation. Though, it becomes tedious when these contracts ask you to hit the high altitude checks many hundreds of kilometers from KSC:confused:

  6.     The B4T is a sub Project of a much larger space station cruiser build I've recently finished. The B4T was designed to be a flyable atmospheric re-entry vehicle. Unusual as it may seem, she totes a tilted engine to compensate for the off-set center of mass created by adding that-thur tilted fuselage piece, because I can. She handles decent enough in Kerbin atmosphere but is highly un-recommended for Duna atmospheric flight. Though, the brave souls who try and fly her at Duna will surely thank me for the spare parachutes :sticktongue: Also, doesn't she look kinda like a bat?

  7. Hey everyone. New to the forums but I just completed my very first KSP short cinematic! Since the dawn of 1.1 and 64 bit I have been able to build HUGE working ships and it's so amazing!

I was so inspired by other youtubers and my successes in 1.1 that I had to throw a video together with some of my fraps caps. I hope you guys like some EDM because Jebediah and BobWing do.

Enjoy my video! "KSP: Jeb and BobWing Go to Duna!"
