[1.4.3] Gameslinx's Planet Overhaul v3.4.0 [UPDATE IN PROGRESS]
4d4Garrison replied to Gameslinx's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Out of curiosity are you going to add the glowing red accretion disk/ring to flare? I think that it would looks really nice and would add the idea that it is still forming.- 2,452 replies

Looks really good dude! The elevens are hardly noticeable so if they are necessary for control I say keep them until a better solution arises.

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So I made my first Video. I decided to do something simple like a mission to Ceti to pick up any remaining science points. I had excess deltaV so it was a cake mission but it was still very fun and playing GPP also always has the bonus of amazing visuals that never seem to get old.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Eddie W - you are crazy with that 3.2x scale thing man. Without near future propulsion and cryo engines I doubt you would even be able to get to Icarus without constructing a vessel in orbit (and a very expensive one at that). Maybe once I get used to this beautiful planet pack and feel I have adequately explored it as I have the stock system I will try out 3.2x.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So I have been working on Gratian Exploration. I build a 4 part transfer vehicle with enough fuel to go to Gratian, to Gael, then back to Gratian, along with LO/OX to refuel 1 lander fully and a 2nd halfway. Here is the science lander flaming through gratians atmosphere. The two other trails are the transfer bus and its decoupler respectively. Here it is around Gratian with the two landers which were sent up separately: The one docked to the top docking port is the science gatherer and it has more DeltaV, science equipment, parachutes, and ladders for EVA allowing it to land then return to orbit. The one docked to the front is a crew transport/lander and its mission will be to land a ground crew at a surface base. Due to its lack of parachutes or ladders it will be single use. Here is the beginning of the station docked to the transfer vessel. This transfer vessel will take 4 or 5 crew home at the next transfer window.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So Hox's moon Argo seems to have surface eruptions and or gaseous releases. Maybe it had some bad tacos. I need to get closer. This small two body system is quite beautiful in a dull, icy, grey sort of way. Wow just wow! You guys have truly outdone yourselves with this. Looks how beautiful argo's eruptions are!- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Will Rald be added in Tellumo orbit or as its own body in a future update? If it is added will a captured asteroid be added as a moon - as of yet there are no very small moons of a Pol, Gilly, or Bop sized body so I am wondering if there are plans to add one/some.- 7,371 replies

@astroheiko That is the same thought I have whenever I see one of his planetary bodies for the first time. I have yet to even visit most of them so its always a nice surprise when I flyby or enter orbit of a new body.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Really loving this new update. the new texture for OTHO is a huge improvement and it looks really nice. I was wondering, have you considered making one of the gas giants a "hot Jupiter" as they are quite common in our galaxy. It would be a rather sudden, massive change if implemented but I was wondering about your thoughts on it. If not this wonderful pack are there any that have a "hot Jupiter"? Tyler- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So lately I have been playing more on my stock save of GPP. I have been getting contracts such as "Mine ore from Ciro and deliver it to the surface of Otho." and "Mine ore from Gauss and deliver it to Hephaestus." Is there a way to fix the bodies registry or designation where you cant get impossible contracts like this?- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Just sent 4 probes to Niven, it is a pretty cool place, Unfortunately the lander probe krakened into pieces after hitting the ground because of some strut parts so no science will be collected from that. One of the orbiter probes just did a flyby and is going to eventually rendezvous back to kerbin and return a capsule with data similar to the OSIRIS-REx mission. Here is the probe that entered a slightly inclined LNO: The other probe is in a polar orbit. I cant wait to find the easter eggs you speak of in the mods description.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
4d4Garrison replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks for the update, as for performance I used to experience a lag spike at low alt around Iota (I hadn't been anywhere else in the system at the time) and as of yet I have only been to Tellumo and I have a mission heading to Nero so we will see how that mission's performance is. It should be awhile though as the encounter is in 17yrs. I saw that you said you fixed the Iota problem and after doing another Iota mission I can confirm the performance is normal now. My computer specs: (Intel core I5-3210M CPU @ 2.50Ghz, 8.00Gb of installed Ram, a 64bit operating system) It is a four year old laptop so I am actually rather pleased with what it can handle. Once I build a nice $800-$1000 computer in earnest we shall see how the performance is but I bet it will hardly be an issue. Keep up the great work man!- 7,371 replies

I have loved this mod since its development. The beautiful design of the planets and the challenge it adds to the stock game in many ways make it feel much more realistic. Also seeing the ammount of work that went into even the most minor details such as the density of the atmospheres using ideal gas laws ETC. Here is my 2nd interplanetary probe to Tellumo: Even on the lowest resolution it still looks really nice, I need to build a nice computer in order to experience it fully. :)- 7,371 replies

Perhaps you should add that the lightest Kerbin lander gets more points as it would make it where one could not just strap 1000 iron beams to a capsule. I will start working on my entry shortly.
-
Here is my entry. I strove for accuracy to the Spirit of St Louis and I think I accomplished it pretty effectively. I only needed to turn on infinite fuel for about 5-7km of flight in order to make the journey. If I had flown straighter by using an autopilot and added another fuel tank in the tail section the math would have worked out. However as it took 2 hours of manual flying (its a pretty feeble plane so you have to be constantly nursing it into the air) I am not going to try again for a while now. Just flying away from the KSC. Flying over the Island in the kerbalantic. In the middle of the Kerbalantic. I landed, with barely any fuel left! I did have to turn on infinite fuel for a second at one bit because my replica was lacking about 5KM of delta V for the mission. Showing where I landed. If I had planned the flight better (it took 2 hours of manual flying in KSP which was tough to say the least) I could've landed on the closer islands which would still represent the scale of Lindburgh's flight accurately.

Its actually relatively easy to simulate a propeller without building a complex turboprop in stock KSP. Ill try to get some pics up of my entry after I build it. Hint: it invovles the thrust reverse mode on the wheesely
