  2. Why not just use some actuator to move the docking port up and down? Then you can lose a pair of legs. The other option of course was to let it float off there and coax it to come along. The engineers wanted to be sure it would.
  3. I realize I haven't done anything for the past couple weeks.... eh whatever. Not strictly today, but I recently made a completely new shuttle design for the shuttle challenge. Why? Because I can. and the other shuttles would probably lag too much.... Oh I also went to visit Triop's hole. Or the one in the arctic. Only ended up killing bill or jeb though when I crashed into the water..... Neat little plane though.
  4. There are mods to get around that. And you can always hop back to the tracking station, so its not a huge issue

  7. Hey nice! Exhaust leakage doesn't sound as bad is transmission and drive train issues. So.... I would call that a victory. Literally zero car maintenance experience, but maybe redoing the connections or just checking the exhaust line helps solve the problems? Might be a crack or something though... IDK. Again, zero experience.

  10. Also found past me also never see it. But maybe they are still a feature. My best guess would be to drop test it Or apply steadily more and more weight to it. I'm not sure though.

  13. Good luck, though I'm quickly losing hope Estimating about 4 000 000 m distance needed to travel, roughly. The best fuel efficiency I saw was 0.03 units per second, which gives about 13000 seconds of time (or about 3.5 hours of flight time). So you would need to average about 307 m/s in order to circumnavigate at that efficiency (which is only an average) KER does suggest though flying higher gives better burn times at the cost of reduced power (7 kn and 4.5 hours at ~11 km). So its a matter of balance between the two. Anyways though - though numbers suggest its quite hard....
  14. OOoo pwetty. According to the wiki, best altitude is like 8000 to 12000 m. Flame out is apparently at 18,300 m.
  15. Game crashed.... Still didn't look to good though. 150 units down, not as far as I would have liked. Ideally, each 100 units is for 1/4 the planet. However, I barely did like maybe 1/6th of Kerbin after 100 units. So..... yeah. I suspect the issue is that while you can circumnavigate with the panther on wet mode, you use more fuel per second, but travel also significantly farther every second compared to the Juno. Gonna have to try again.. maybe tomorrow though If you keep trying though, my advice is fly high. 7000 m seems to be pretty good....

  17. Looking nice. My one concern is excess pilot drag. Kerbals aren't super aerodynamic you know... Welp, the "monstrosity" as you put it splashed down quite short of the KSC. Gonna have a redesign.... also 32 C thats not really a habitable temperature is it......
  18. 1 engine, 400 LF. Lets see how far I can get! Fuel levels already... dubious. Only a quarter the way round, but more than a quarter fuel used.... Actually not even a quarter..... Wonder if I should fly the other way round... then the KSC gets closer to me....

  22. Looks like another tomcat. Seems to be going well by the look of things. Don't accidentally stage though, I don't the the pilot would be happy to realize that his fuselage is now in little bits and pieces everywhere around around him
  23. For the last 2 days or so I went backpacking for the first time. Now my feet, shoulders, and hip all are sore and I probably came back smelling like a mess. Pizza afterwards was glorious though. And ice cream. No one died though from the group so that's nice too.
