for anyone alse having this problem i managed to fix it by deleting the kerbal space program folder from within the steamapps/common folder then reinstalling , just uninstalling through steam doesn't remove all files and it had messed it up.

KSP version =1.1.01230 - Windows 10, 64-bit, and it's on Steam i cant snap parts onto my command module, i started doing the training missions but got stuck when i had to put a solid stage booster on, the snap point is in the center of the booster instead of the top so it snaps sideways, also i tried the intermediary construction mission and the de-coupler attaches ok but then the fuel tank wont snap , thanks for the help screenshots = http://imgur.com/a/j6IWx system specs - i5 - 3570l, 16gb ram, 250gb intel ssd, msi gtx 660ti unmodded game- fresh install and deleted all saves just in case ksp log-
