Single engine design across booster and spacecraft will speed up development a lot and add quite a bit of safety factor. And the sL engine is way more robust than the vac. Less likely to be damaged by landing/takeoff debris. Could be a smart way to hit project goals sooner.
-
All sea-level engines give up 20s of Isp .... payload would be130t to orbit....and maybe 120t to mars surface.
-
I wonder what they will call it? butt-petals? vac-skirt?
-
7 mid ratio engines? They don't look nearly as big as the 200ER vacs. Butt-skirt vac attachment? And where are the landing gear? in the fins? back to 3 again? Wow that is quite a revision. Edit : Those bells close to 1.3m? Maybe they are standard 2017 sea-level.

Point-to-point BFR will not use a full load of fuel..... ....a half load of fuel (1500t in the booster+500t in the ship) will get 30t payload (250 people and luggage?) most places on the planet (9700 m/s) Estimate dry masses are 208t for the booster and 85t for the ship.
