I was coming back from Eve, and I had a maneuver set for encountering Kebin. Well, two, and they were set by Kerbal Astrogator, but I shut of the KA panel and usually have to tweek the maneuver node to get what I want, so I don't think the mod has anything to do with it.I start the burn, and all looks good till near the end, when the burn indicator suddenly adds five times the minutes for the burn than it originally calculated, and turns red, indicating I don't have enough fuel. This is not right, though, and I still just continued until the little SOI change circle at the end of my trajectory matches up with the orignal burn's SOI circle, and I'm ok.This happened again at the mid-course correction burn, but all I had to do was watch kerbin until my flight path got to where I wanted it.Is anyone else seeing anything like this?

I'm not sure why this posted this way. This was my post.

transfer calculator [1.12] Astrogator v1.0.1
Rmack replied to HebaruSan's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Oh, for cryin' out loud! That was it. I was jumping to conclusions, because my first install was bugged in some way. It's alright now. Good speculating, HebaruSan. -
transfer calculator [1.12] Astrogator v1.0.1

OK, I did it all over again after removing the Astrogator file from my game data folder, and now the icon appears right, it looks like a folding star map. And, where the selection to time warp was a small rectangle, it now looks like it does on my laptop; two arrows. However, I still don't have maneuver node generator button; the small cog thing. -
transfer calculator [1.12] Astrogator v1.0.1
Rmack replied to HebaruSan's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I had great success with Kerbal Astrogator on my laptop while I was snowbirding for five months in my RV. I tried to install it on my desktop, and in the game, I see only a white square icon rather than the colorful one on my laptop. It also only shows the warp to the window icon, no set node icon, you know that looks like a cog. I extracted the file on my desktop, and then copy and pasted that in my game data folder in KSP. It wouldn't have shown at all if I did it wrong, right? -
transfer calculator [1.12] Astrogator v1.0.1

I'm a big time noob in KSP, but this mod has helped refine my interplanetary aspirations. I used it to get to Duna, and to start getting the crew back. I'll let you know how it goes. Basically, it got me in the neighborhood, and let me set a mid-course correction to refine my Kerbin pass. I couldn't have done it by myself! -
I have a career-mode game saved under 'persistant' that will not load. I installed mechjeb, but haven't really used it yet. I think that this increased the frequency of game ctd events, but I'm not sure if I had any problem before. Very rarely, I think. I tried deleting the mechjeb folder, but that didn't seem to help. Is my career game gone? That would be a waste of more time than I care to admit. Any possible fixes would be most welcome, though I have to warn you, I'm new to Windows 10 and don't know everything about any versions, though I started with Win 95

I was thinking along those lines, but don't have enough science yet. I noticed that you can turn on 'unlimited fuel' which I could use to do the first Munar missions. Sad though, I so wanted to use fuel. I've been flopping my way there, taking the readings, then parachuting in, and getting recovered. It works!

This is normal career mode. Even though my aircraft are squirrelly, I've been pulling off crew report and temp reading contracts, even when they where on the other side of Kerbin! Under altitude missions, anyway. I can also usually pull off the higher than altitude missions. Surface EVA reports are eluding me. I don't think I could land my plane, but I might be able to parachute it in. I've been experimenting with eight engine air breather horizontal flight vehicles, and it's not going to work. How do I land on Kerbin?

How do you set up a joystick

I got it! I fiddled with it a little, and have the joystick working and the keyboard, too. -
How do you set up a joystick
Rmack replied to Rmack's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Under Input, when you click on one of the control movements none buttons like pitch up it brings up a panel that says press the button on the controller. When I move the controller, like I've done to program other flight sims, nothing happens. I am on windows. -
I have an old Saitek X45, but no software. Do I need to download something? And how do you get the game to recognize it? Thanks in advance.

This one seem to be flying OK. The trick is to get the center of mass and and such lined up...well, you know. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=690721004

Finally got one that flew! Looks like a lear jet with twin rear engines between the horizontal stabilizers and the vertical stab. Would a joystick work with this game? I've got an old Saitek X45. Would it help make the planes a little easier to control?

In the wiki, when it says trim is controlled by 'Mod=wsadqe' does that mean you need a mod to have trim?
-
Also, I don't seem to have those wing struts available anywhere.
-
A tail dragger? OK. How do you get that high wing config? and how do you side mount engines? I can see any of that. OK, I got the engines, still having probs with the wing
-
Is it possible to build an aircraft with only the fourth tier aircraft opened? I only see a round air intake, and not the side mounted one that I see in Scott Manley's how-to vid. And the engine is much smaller, also.

That was It! I was forgetting the small matter of the pressure on the chutes. In other training missions, the chute is set at max pressure. Thanks for all the help, guys.
-
Wait a minute, I have been raising the altitude, but the pressure was default at 0. I thought the chute wouldn't deploy anyway till it hit the set altitude. Could that be what I'm doing wrong?
-
OK, I deleted that Physic.cfg file through Steam, started up the game and loaded that same training mission Docking. I went up to the same (or very close) orbit of the target just to have the same conditions, and set up a re-entry. I made real sure I set my Pe at 20,000 meters, and the same thing happened. I lost both chutes during the re-entry.
-
OK, the file is deleted, and I'm starting up the game.
-
The only thing I could find that was close to a 'library' didn't have anything to do with KSP. If you mean all programs, I found the KSP folder there in the Steam folder. When I right clicked, and selected 'properties', there was no 'local files' tab. I'm running windows 7, btw. Sorry for being so ignorant, but I haven't done anything like that for a decade or so, and I had step by step instructions then. And I tried another training mission. The one I'm having problems with is the Docking one. I've gotten much better at rendezvous and docking, but when I set up a re-entry from the orbit of the target ship, with a 20,000 Pe, both parachutes fail. My mistake about the drogue chute, that might be another training mission or something. This ship has two side mounted chutes. Is it possible that 20,000 meters is not a good Pe for coming in from that high of an orbit? I seem to recall having the same problem trying to return to Kerbin from Mun. Oh, OK, you meant in the steam program itself. I'll go try to delete that file there.

Above my pay grade.
