  1. Sorry you feel you are wasting your time as I very much appreciate your in-depth answers. Just interested in understanding this fully and I think, going into some detail, actually helps the less experienced users of your mod. The forum is for discussion, discovery and sharing ideas, the Issue Report section on Github should be the place where real identified bugs are raised, no? Thanks for your continued efforts with this mod, feel free to delete my ramblings if you feel they are of no merit.
  2. Hey ferram4, Yep 4 parts on this craft. I can move where the drag points occur as I explained on PF forums... "Below is an example of what I mean regarding the nodes being affected by aerodynamics. The fairing base is the flat one with 4 connection nodes, updating to more nodes adds more of these glitches. At each "node_stack_connect" point the oddity occurs. If I update the "Side1.cfg" or "Side2.cfg" line: From "node_stack_connect = 0, 0.5, 0, 0, -1, 0, 0" TO "node_stack_connect = 0, 1, 0, 0, -1, 0, 0" the problems jumps vertically. (Thought I could be cheeky and force it inside the fairing, however it was still causing drag in FAR)" The dll release from a couple of hours ago has stopped the actual drag from occurring, although it is still graphically modeled in aerodynamic overlay, with long red drag lines (no biggie) Will perform a more extensive test later today after completing all my daddy duties.
  3. That makes perfect sense, thought I was going made! Yep, rocket is gash just to highlight issue, amazing how stock aerodynamics are so lame. IMO. FAR, RSS, RO and RP-0 = Simulation ELSE Fail
  4. Thanks for response, however something strange is going on and only occurs once FAR is installed. The below screenshot shows Stock KSP with just PF installed. You can see the little blue spike in the center showing the attachment node for the fairing and it does not change from launch to thundering through the atmosphere. As soon as I install FAR the following drag is applied to those node points, making the craft flip around them, barley able to keep control. The other vessel drag vectors are obviously expected. Any help will be much appreciated. BTW: The voxels all look good when editing the craft as shown below.
  5. I have checked with Ferram4 in the FAR thread with the following response. "There is no code in FAR that applies drag to parts based on attach nodes, especially not for procedural fairings. " @Starwaster did you state this as a fact or a just guess? @Starwaster. Seems you are correct and the aerodynamic overlay is just an incorrect calculation and is not actually simulated by FAR. Cheers.
  6. Hey Modder, It appears that FAR is modelling drag on the attachment nodes for PF. I clean installed KSP 1.1.2, installed PF, all working fine. Installed FAR and attachment nodes start to cause drag. Tried the previous version of both mods and the problem is still present. I don't have an older version of KSP to test, sorry.

  8. Hey Modder, I've been playing RP-0 and have progressed onto requiring fairings, however I'm getting some spooky aerodynamic issues when using them. I re-installed stock 1.1.2 and just added PF via CKAN. When creating a simple 2 stage craft, I can see, when applying the aerodynamic overlay, that the node_connects are causing drag. It does not seem to affect the craft too much in stock, but when adding FAR to the mod list all hell breaks loose and the drag on the invisible nodes eventually causes overheating. I have tried the previous version of PF and FAR and the issues is present in both. Is this something new to 1.1.2? Your efforts are always appreciated Benmush
