Transfer opened to Duna, so off they went. Usually would just put everything else off and warp right there, but I think I will clean up my mission list and make some money for a trip to the Jool system, likely unmanned but with Juno arriving recently, I'm motivated to go there lol. Unclear to me how com sat networks work, but the idea of them I have is That they will allow for better communication from further places if you have them set up between kerbin and your destination. If someone could pm me or explain it to the group, would be much appreciated!

Woke up, sat down at the comp and noticed that my electricity levels were low even though I was on the illuminated side of the planet. Turned the camera around and saw an eclipse! Idk how rare this is but in the time it took me to upload it to imgur and make coffee, it was over. Also, got my Interplanetary Kerbal Explorer and Tyson Lander up to Cascadia Station in preparation for the first career mission to Duna. I am undecided as of this morning but I think i am going to send two ships, each with its own lander, and send one to Ike then bring everyone back together.

Like a space station or a ground base? I ask because I have built a space station and now want to build a base on the Mun but don't know where to start. How do you connect the pieces if you are able to land them close? Can you use docking ports and a rover or something? (I should probably build a rover, huh?) Anyway, all advice is appreciated!

What is the most HORRIBLE way one of your kerbals died

Landed on the Mun for the very first time, came in too fast and one of the legs blew out. The ship started tilting over and i panicked so I quickly tried to EVA to get Jeb out cause I didnt know if the ship would blow. Got him out as the ship went about 90 degrees over....but I had never EVA'd before besides holding onto the ship for a report, so I just had to watch as the ship fell over and crushed Jeb under it and blew up, leaving no traces of anything. I built the Cascadia Space Station. 5 flights to put up the basic core of the station, including the science module, 2 habitation modules, and 2 solar arrays. Not the most impressive station, but I recently rejoined my career mode after doing a bunch of experimenting in sandbox and I plan to use this station for my first career mode missions to other planets, I am also going to keep a small science lander and a cruiser ship for transport to the Moons of Kerbin and back docked to the station at all times, and disposable refuel tanks when needed. Pictured is the station from the both sides, and also the delivery of the scientists who are about spend a lot of time in orbit. Thanks for reading. you guys are awesome! This forum is the only time I get to nerd out with this game, haha.

Spent about 5 hours building a space station. Got half my solar panels on, came back and loaded the game and the solar panels started wiggling and tore my station to pieces. Loaded the game again and tried everything (retracting panels, detailing solar array from station, rotating station) and for some reason nothing will happen without the panels wiggling and tearing up the station. Luckily the Kerbals I had on it were in the main hub, the only piece that lived, so I sent up a small retrieval ship and went back to the drawing board. Wish I could have got a screen shot but I guess for now I'll just have to rethink some things and try again.

Well after weeks of trial and error, throwaway designs, failed launches, etc...I am finally interplanetary! First had to get my Interplanetary Kerbal Explorer II (IKE II),Tyson Jr. Lander, and Senzu Refuel Module up to the Shenron Space Station. Docked the lander to my ship, waited ~180 days for the transfer window, and off we went. This was a huge accomplishment for me in this game. The only other times I had done anything with other planets was one unmanned probe to Eve, but for some reason I decided the first time I went to Duna I was going to land and come back. Not much testing beyond taking prospective ships to the station and seeing how much Delta V I had left and how the specific engine configuration functioned. I am thrilled with the result though, it really did feel like I was stuck after 20+combined missions to the Moons of Kerbin. Need to make some minor adjustments to my ship, but overall this mission was a complete success! Thanks for keeping me motivated with all the awesome stuff you guys do. Next up will be perfecting a shuttle and building a more realistic and cool looking space station around Kerbin, and a refueling/ science station around Minmus.

Decided to start a sandbox after things started to get expensive in career mode. Started by making a renovated version of my Shenron Space Station (I actually liked the version in the sandbox premades but I added a science module) in 2 launches and then sent my Crew Delivery Craft to pick up Jeb and Valentina so we can prepare for Duna. I also designed my 1 Kerbal planetary lander, the Tyson Jr. I am playing with designs for a bigger lander, but for now I just want to make that first landing on another planet.

Been able to progress pretty steadily in this game, until it came to docking. This gave me a lot of trouble, but finally got it. The Shenron Space Station has finally been docked with for a test/ crew transfer from the first launch of the Crew Delivery Craft (CDC.) I intended to dock with a smaller stage, but turns out I went way overboard for fuel on this run. I plan to build a bigger, more ISS like station eventually and I will add to this one, but would like to explore the solar system before that. Next up, adding the Senzu Refuel Module to the Station so I can get that sweet, sweet science awaiting on the other planets.. Thanks for keeping me motivated with all your awesome stuff you guys do. Its really cool to see what people are capable of in this game.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share what I am doing with this game lately. I am completely obsessed with it, and none of my friends play! If there is interest in what I'm doing, i will for sure update. Also, I feel I should say I JUST recently installed MechJeb to help with interplanetary maneuvers, but I made multiple successful flights to the Mun and Minmus and returned with no mods. This is Apollo IX landed on the North Pole of the Mun. Apollo IX This is the 6th successful landing (Apollo II crash landed killing Jebediah-RIP) on the Mun and 9th total mission of the Apollo Program. Along with Apollo, the Artemis Program to Minmus is going strong! Artemis III is the most recent and the second successful land and return. No pictures on Minmus, but will be returning soon on Artemis IV! Also, I currently have the Frieza Probe orbiting Eve, which was the first mission of the Raven Program to explore Eve and pave the way for interplanetary travel! Frieza Probe Upcoming missions and programs: The Shenron Space Station will be put into LKO. Shenron Hub The Senzu Refuel Module will be added to the Shenron Space Station. The Hermes (name pending) Program to explore Duna will begin with a flyby and return! Thanks for reading! Keep looking up!
