Oh I didn't pick up on it's shape as a band. I wonder now why it wasn't set up as you described if that was the intent. Anyways, it's been fun seeing your missions progress. I kind of hope you choose to use Galileo's planet pack for your next career as I will be doing the same and like others have said, your ship designs can be inspirational.

@eddiew it seems to me that Thatmo is intended to have an orientation like that of Uranus, where the poles face laterally in comparison to most bodies. This means that each pole nearly directly faces the sun once per year. That would explain the biome you were seeing.

It is great. It's a wonderful challenge in my opinion. I'm curently trying to design a mothership that can make Jool and back with six kerbals. I have Deep Freeze as well but I like the idea of using that as a backup plan and keeping them awake for the trip. I'm curently working on finding the right balance between greenhouses and food containers for this thing.

I believe they are just called "forward swept wings".

@CatastrophicFailure LOL

This trailer looks so ridiculous; I just love how it bounces around. If kerbals were rednecks thi... wait a minute...

With a mod as intensive as this, I wouldn't be surprised if it is quite a bit of work to get it 1.2 compatible, not to mention some of the things he wants to add. This is my single favorite mod and I am happy to wait for @ShotgunNinja to get it where he feels it's ready. If you rush an artist, the artwork will not be as good. Just my 2 cents.

Huh. I have the same issue with previous quotes appearing but I don't have quite the same problems trying to erase stuff. It's frustrating for me, so I know it has to be even more so for you. Sorry I don't have any helpful advice.
-
You have to click in the box you want to delete as if to type, then hit the return key (or next line or whatever it's called nowadays). This should bring you to a new line outside the quoted text, then backspacing should allow you to erase the quote.

I named it "Ulchabhán" after my wife's favorite animal: the owl. I figure its mildly appropriate as it was so stealthy in the night sky that I almost didn't realize it was there. Also, Ulchabhán is one of my favorite words in Irish (sorry about the mouse in the pics, I keep forgetting that this screenshot program doesn't autohide the mouse)

That's pretty sweet looking. Subsatellites are possible too, just less likely. Besides, this is a game, I can overlook some realism for the sake of awesomeness. Also, where did you get those realistic aerospike engines???

I lowered it but kept its inclination. I like it's uniqueness and felt that is inclination was an extension of that. I had thought that I had taken a screenshot of its final orbit but when I was loading to imgur I didn't see it and it was quite late. I can post it later today if anyone would care to see it.

Visited my third natural satellite. I like that it's green. Had to do some science, of course. Then moved it into an orbit where Mun wouldn't eject it from Kerbin's SOI. Disembarked and headed home.

Kerbal Space Program; designed to let you reach for the stars... ... but you can also build your very own Starscream if you really want to. Bravo good sir, bravo.

I may send a ship up on it's second go-around to alter it's orbit so Mun won't eject it. I kind of like the idea of keeping it around

I have a ship ready to launch once it swings around. Don't know if i'll have time to get to that tonight as I have work in the early morning. I will post an update on this as soon as I can though Edit: I also just noticed that it's orbiting the opposite direction as the turn of Kerbin. I get to launch with an interesting heading...

Well, I'm having trouble taking screenshots at the moment . I think it has to do with running ksp from a folder on my desktop instead of from steam. I'll see what I can do before going too far.

(1.1.3) So I just noticed that Kerbin now has a third natural satellite. It looks like an asteroid did a flyby just close enough that when Mun swung by it slowed/altered its path enough that it got stuck in Kerbin's SOI. I have never messed with asteroids but I now feel like I have to take a look at it up close, maybe do some science on it. I expect I won't have it forever as its orbital path crosses very near Mun's twice per orbit, so I'll have to be about it quickly. Wish me luck!

I have parts break down. Most specifically I've had 3 probes/satellites have their reaction wheels breakdown. I kinda laugh about it imagining that the "manufacturer" is getting an earful.
-
I have absolutely no idea. Spooky indeed.

I started a mock-up mothership in the VAB. My idea was to build a ship that could make it to and from Eeloo with a 9 man crew. Having Kerbalism, that meant a lot of food, and that far out it's pretty rough. I tried adding several greenhouses but it just didn't cut it . In the end I came up with a design that included a Deep Freeze compartment so the crew could sleep through part of the trip. I'm definitely not sold on the design I came up with, but it did get some things rolling around in my noggin as far as what I needed, what I wanted, and how I can design some parts of it. After saving the design for "just in case", I started a simpler, smaller one and realized that I should totally build this thing in Minmus orbit since I have my launch facility on the ground there. I can just send up containers of parts that are too difficult to launch assembled from the site and attach them via KIS KAS. I am now in a happy place

@eddiew I love that picture of the Telemachus IV landing, Lyssa's face is great.
-
@JadeOfMaar I'd be a little reluctant to give anything that name in a game like this... just seems like asking for trouble. Also happens to be my wife's favorite poem.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to see this coming in 1.2. I also look forward to the need for communication satellites being stock. The idea that kerbals can pass our from g-forces puts a grin on my face, and having to design craft around that and communicatons is highly intriguing to me.
