    ARGHHHHH

I've seen far worse forum layouts on other forums, an unattractive forum layout isn't enough to deter me as long as it functions smoothly. I agree that a bit more contrast wouldn't hurt, I like things to be clearly separated.
  2. I love that part of the game, everything is new and unknown and you have to learn as you go and scrape together whatever resources you have in a creative way to reach your first goals. It's lots of fun don't you agree?
  3. The last couple days I've been trying to put a small science base on the mun. "Can't be too difficult, it's just a can filled with some stuff with 4 legs attached to it", I though to myself, it proved to be more difficult than expected. I can get it into orbit around Kerbin and from there to the mun, but I never have enough fuel left to land it on the mun. I am making this a bit more difficult than necessary, I don't want it to be a lander ship turned into base, I want it to be a true base with no engines attached and this makes it a bit more difficult. I guess I have to up-scale everything else to make it work, but KSP doesn't seem to like big, complex rocket designs, hmm... 4. I've been quite productive today, just finished my 4th Mun mission since I started playing KSP again. I quickly discovered that I can basically "farm" science points on the Mun. My newly designed lifting stage and Mun lander has proven to be quite efficient for Mun missions. On the 4th Mun mission I kinda messed up the re-entry trajectory and poor Jeb had to go EVA and literally push the ship to slow it down so it wouldn't take a month in game time to re-enter the atmosphere. This is why I like KSP, it's relatively realistic and complex but also hilarious. :D
  5. I don't care about damaging the Kerbin environment or whatever, Kerbals are hardy people, they'll manage. I like to do things neatly though, so I usually discard spent stages in such a way that they either burn up in Kerbins atmosphere or crash into the Mun or whatever planet/moon/asteroid that's nearby.
  6. Finally got back into the game after a way too long break. It's been so long that I basically had to learn to fly again, but in a way that's been a good thing, I feel like I'm finally starting to understand how things actually work. I also play in science mode to give myself some challenge, makes the game more interesting. That's a mighty fine jetplane by the way.
  7. I'm pretty green compared to other people on this forum, but here's what I use for trips to the mun, I don't have a screencap of it one the mun, but here it is parked on the launch pad: It's got enough fuel to be able to land on the mun even if I miss on the mun and have to come around for another try. Yes, I did mess up with the time acceleration if you were wondering hehe. I'm very pleased with the lift and launch stage too, those two stages combined has proven to be a decent workhorse, works very well for putting relatively heavy ships or station modules into orbit and beyond. Here it is mounted onto the lift and orbit stage:
  8. I'm new to this forum, despite the age of my profile, just haven't been active until now. I recently picked up this game again. I've drastically reduced the number of explosions to the extent that I'm able to do something productive in the game hehe. I did a succesfull expedition to the mun earlier today, and just now I built my first little space station, isn't it adorable? I'll try my hand at some docking and try and actually assemble modules in space. I've found that the ion engine is very effective for adjusting the orbit, achieved a near perfect 202k orbit with a deviation of only 13m. I have to say that the stations I've seen in this thread are very impressive.
