  1. Here are my copilots. They keep me on task (and warm )
  2. I've been a Pen-and-Paper roleplayer since the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons days. Usually off and on, as I can find groups and players. I had a pretty consistent group where we would play every week for about two years before I left Miami. We played all sorts of systems: Pathfinder, DnD 5th, Cyberpunk 2020, Star Wars, Spycraft. Here on the West Coast, it's a bit less consistent, but still enough to scratch the itch. I love the stories that we get to tell collaboratively, and how each player will shape and twist the narrative in new and exciting ways. I know this is a bit of an old thread, but has anyone used Roll20? I'm interested in trying it out, but not sure I can swing it as a DM. Perhaps someone has an open player slot? Let me know! --miamijuggler
  3. Good to know tsaven. I haven't messed with overclocking much (or at all), so I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable venturing into 5Ghz territory on my first trip out. I might see if I could get closer to 4Ghz, to start.
  4. Good to know, everyone. Thank you for your input! I'll do some deeper delving into these options once I have a bit of time (not much of that for KSP these days, I'm afraid).
  5. I would have messaged you privately, but apparently I'm still too new for that.

I just wanted to say that I am DEEPLY INTRIGUED by your profile image.

I've been playing DnD and other pen-and-paper RPGs for decades, and been a Wing Commander fan since it came out, basically.

I had no idea there was an overlap between these two things. I've done some googling, but I'm interested to know if you've actually played, and what you think of rules system.

In any case, I hope things are going well for you!

      !!!!

      I had no idea!

I also had no idea the source books were freely available. I suppose I'll have to do some reading and get back to you. :)

Thank you for your hard work on this!

      No problem.

They used to be available in hardcopy; alas that that is no longer the case. But the PDFs are still available and they're free to download.

I guess for the record, I would be very interested should a hardcopy ever become available again.

  6. Hi All, Been playing on my self-built PC for about 3 years now, so it's getting around to time for an upgrade. Current specs: i5-6500 3.2 Ghz Processor MSI PC Mate 170A motherboard 16GB RAM (2x8GB) GTX 960 GPU 256GB SSD, 500GB HDD Outputting to 1080p 60Hz HDTV (no need for 4k or ridiculous framerate) I've heard that KSP relies on single thread performance more than most games do, so I was wondering if it would be better to upgrade my CPU or my GPU next? The motherboard I have is a fairly entry-level model when I purchased it in 2015, so I'm wondering how much benefit I can get while staying on the LGA1151 socket. Is it time to upgrade the motherboard as well? If so, is it worth considering the new AMD processors? Thanks for all your feedback! --miamijuggler
  7. Hi All, I've been kicking around the idea of building a Laythe colony, and while I have a surface base, seaplane, and refueling rover currently en route, I was wondering if there was a mod to allow the construction of a remote space center for the construction and launching of new vehicles. This thread mentioned the mod "Alien Space Programs," but I notice the thread is now 2 years old. Is this still the most current/appropriate mod for something like this? Can you specify the latitude/longitude of the constructed space center? Is there any cost/build time associated with this, or does it just pop into existence? In case it matters, I'm currently running a legacy version of KSP (1.2.2 x64, Windows), with Interstellar-Extended Mod. Thanks for your feedback. --miamijuggler
  8. I am currently working on putting together a demonstration video for an SSTO I designed during my KSP Interstellar playthrough. After much engineering, tweaking, and testing I think it's finally done. Single stage spaceplane that can refuel itself, has a full science suite on board, room for six crew, and... ... is Eve-capable. Eve surface to stable Eve orbit with ~900m/s delta-V remaining. I recognize this probably isn't the greatest achievement ever, but I'm quite proud of it. Mostly because of how refined and functional the resulting craft feels. I'll make a separate post about it once the video is done. Looking forward to hearing more tales of others' heroism!
  9. Hi all, I actually forgot how long ago i created my account, and have only just now gotten around to posting for the first time. As far as my experience with KSP goes, I can't say there's another game that has commanded so much of my time and attention. Steam says I have around 200 hours logged, but i only purchased the Steam version this past January. I had purchased the non-Steam version back when it was still in Beta (i believe it was 0.86? maybe?). In any case, I continue to enjoy this game, and have plans for a Laythe colony at some point, so if anyone has any ideas for SSTO seaplanes, please let me know. See you around, --miamijuggler
  10. Hello, I hope I'm posting in the correct thread, but I wasn't able to find the answer elsewhere on the internet. I'm encountering an issue with the wrapper droptanks experiencing LqdHydrogen boiloff, even though I'm fairly certain they have access to sufficient electric power (onboard reactor). I believe these were included in the KSP-I Extended mod, which I'm using in KSP version 1.2.2. Other mods I'm using are simply KerbalEngineerRedux, Kerbal Alarm Clock, and Docking Alignment Indicator. If there's a small setting that I've missed somewhere when building or operating the spacecraft, that would be a fantastic and easy fix. However, I can post craft files and screenshots if deeper troubleshooting is needed. I was hoping to be able to avoid having to write code to eliminate ALL fuel boiloff (as indicated in the above posts). Thanks so much in advance for your help! --miamijuggler
