I the similar issue. The only thing that worked for me, was to revert to an older savefile -
I had a similar issue with my mun lander. I had to put the lander Legs on radial decouplers in order to prevent fuel from leaking.

I think there should really rebind of the AeroUI possible. Because for steam players its muscle memory to use F12 for all thier screenshots. Maybe this is Possible with an edit to the games config files? I was not able to find them yet.
