Give Minmus a very VERY thin atmosphere
halosos replied to halosos's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Check the edit i made, Kasuha said it could be something like cryovolcanism emanating from the ice -

Much better explanation! Editing my post... -

If it had oxygen, which I don't think it should. -
Folders for Saved Vehicles

I Agree, I have far too many crafts in my VAB folder, and often pick the wrong one when launching. -
Give Minmus a very VERY thin atmosphere

While its not a sphere, the atmosphere would fill the flats, like a ghost of an ocean! The atmosphere would be too thin for landing, making Minmus no less hard to land on -
Give Minmus a very VERY thin atmosphere

No benefit, exept mabey some science, it just looks nice, makes Minmus more interesting. Something doesn't need a landing/flying benefit to be there. -
I think These two planets need a thin atmosphere. For Minmus, I think the atmosphere needs to be about 5Km in high, and the same colour of the ice lakes. So the mountains rise above it. In terms of how it would look, I think it would look a bit like a fog. It would just look nice, maybe even have it registrable by the pressure science module. A bit of editing to give an idea what I think it should look like. Edit: Kasuha gave a better description on what it should be, scientificly.

what are you? insane?!

Damn you to hell ;-; you raised my hopes faster than Jeb on a SRB and then made them drop just as fast :/

last page? not any more

When you have many flights in progress, it would be nice to make a folder and just drag a bunch of flights into it, so you can find what your looking for more easily. kinda like the layer grouping option in Photoshop. that way, you could have hundreds of flights, but not a massive list in the tracking station.

The idea is that at the edge of each SOI is 2 smaller SOIs that when a craft is in, its treated as though its in orbit of the parent SOI. LSOI (Lagrange Sphere of Influence) will act as part of both the SOI of the moon and planet, making the speed to retain an orbit faster or slower. If my understanding of the KSP engine is correct, then this would not be too hard to implement. you would simply have 2 SOIs with there centre of gravity way off, and that centre of gravity would be lower or higher depending on what LSOI its in. For technical reasons it would jut be L1 and L2, but that would be enough for a whole range of new mission types. When in each LSOI you would have to make your velocity the same of that of the SOI your in, in order to remain there. This post is probably going to get deleted because its about Lagrange points, but I would like to see the opinion of someone who properly knows how KSP works. Like I said, my understanding of it, it should work, but I may be wrong.

(Request) Help on a designing a interplanetary lander.
halosos replied to halosos's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
the lander was built and sent into orbit, its pretty much the same design aside form a bit of extra RCS fuel, and a different docking port on the top Here is the transfer stage, lander and science lab ready for the duna transfer window in 3 days -

Thanks guys, you have helped the my first manned duna mission become a success! -
Hey, I'm preparing to send 6 Kerbals to Duna. I have my Interplanetary transfer vehicle (IPTV) already in orbit But I cant get my landers into orbit, to dock. Could someone help? The specs are: Able to hold 6 Kerbals, preferable using landercans Able to stack for example, three, 2 manned landers Enough RCS fuel for orbital Rendezvous A launch stage capable of getting to lander to the IPTV without using any of the landers fuel. Able to be remotely controlled via Probe, with solar panels or Radial thermal generators Thanks in advanced

I think this should be added, mainly for when people screw up (like me). So the story goes like this, I had just spent a week building my space stations and bases on various planets, then a rocket that I decoupled came back to haunt me, and smashed though my station, so in panic I quick load and BAM! back to my first flight in this save. when I press F9 I want a 'Are you sure you want to revert to your last quick save that was '##:##' Hours ago.'
-
I have spent a week of base building and space station construction, then i made a mistake, did quick load to reset the flight and BAM! im back on my first flight this save. Quick load/save needs to be changed so you know when your last save was. If there is any way to undo this, please let me know.

Here is an idea, add a 'cargo hold' part to the VAB and SPH and give kerbals the ability to pickup small parts, like the 'OX-STAT Photovoltaic Panels' This 'cargo hold' could be used to put small crafts in, or parts and other things to leave on the surface of a planet. you could use it to bring a rover with you, like in the real moon missions. stick random bits of junk in there too, like probe cores and solar panels, and move them around to make a landing site look more like a landing site. some extra things in the 'science' tab wouldn't go amiss ether, like these things. I think these could help make landing on other planets feel more rewarding.

I was testing a rover when i noticed a set of stairs on the victim recruitment centre, so i got out and found that they had proper hit boxs! i knew things had been updated, but no idea that they had that level of detail. My kerbal went to go visit the VAB and found stairs and working ladders. SQUAD, im really impressed with this detail. I hope soon that we will be able to go inside some of these buildings.

Kethane Pack 0.9.2 - New cinematic trailer! - 1.0 compatibility update
halosos replied to Majiir's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is there a way to have multiple crafts with scanners running simultaneously? i want to setup a satellite network to scan a planet within a day. just 1 craft takes far to long -
Hey, i love my mods, and KSP keeps crashing because of lack of memory. I have a computer with 16GB of ram, and I would like to use it so KSP has some breathing room. I was thinking a drop down menu in the settings, just like you do for resolution, with things like 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and so on, dependant on the amount of RAM installed on the PC/Laptop. It may need a 'reset to apply changes' but as long as it has lots of RAM. Well that's just my idea, I have no idea about coding, not sure if this is even possible, but if it is, something like this could benefit a lot of people.
