  1. I have KER installed (LOVE IT) and I am trying to use the RDVZ to intercept an asteroid. Are there instructions on what all those fields mean and how to use them? Phase angle and intercept angle specifically?
  2. Ok, now I have "tracked" a dozen or so, but now I cannot determine the sizes anymore Grrrr.....
  3. I put two commsats in orbit. One around Moho, nd the other around Eve. On the way out of Kerbin's SOI, I noticed question marks that appear to be asteroids. I then took couple contracts to bring them into Kerbin orbit. I built a ship to grab one and went out near the question mark and it was 60 days old, and no longer there. How is a Kerbal supposed to find these things?
  4. Thanks all who helped. I cut-n-pasted the imgur "Direct Link" yet when I type the exact same thing it did not work.....
  5. I did put them on imgur and pasted in the links. I tried "insert other media" which did not work when I put in a link. I tried the "link" (chain link) also. I even tried inserting html code for img src....didn't work.
  6. Some of the videos I have seen have really great eye candy like clouds. Is that a better graphics card or a mod? I have turned my graphics up all that way, best I can tell, and I see no clouds.
  7. I tried to put a story together in the "What did you do in KSP today" thread. I was unable to embed my screenshots. What am I doing wrong?
  8. I can't seem to get my pictures inline!
  9. Yesterday, Kerbaldom's hero, Valentina Kerman, first kerbalnaut in orbit, to the Mün and to Minmus, delivered a vital component to Kerbin's first space station, Station II. This new module contains a mobile processing lab, a habitat module for 4 kerbal scientists and 5 of the new larger docking ports. In addition, this module has more batteries, solar arrays and monopropellant. This artist rendition shows her craft with the new module on the lower left of the central part of the station. The upper right is a lifeboat craft on station and manned by rookie kerbalnaut Verigh Kerman. Valentina delivered two scientists and was to return with the original scientist and engineer on the station. These three kerbalnauts are KASA's most experienced and brightest. Upon separation from the station, Valentina backed away and prepared to fire her main engine for a retrograde burn to de-orbit. However, there was a malfunction and instead of firing the engine, the booster section of her craft separated from the capsule instead. This left the capsule containing Valentina, Bargun and Jorsey stranded in orbit with no means to return to Kerbin! Enter a new hero, Verigh Kerman, the only kerbalnaut close enough to help. He separated from the station with his lifeboat to dock with Valentina's craft to de-orbit the capsule. He was unaware that Valentina's craft had the newer, larger docking port that was incompatible with the smaller port on his capsule. Undeterred, he positioned for docking anyway. Unable to lock together, he used his extensive training to press against the stranded capsule using RCS thrusters and held it in that position while thrusting with his main engine at 25% in a retrograde direction, de-orbiting both his craft and Valentina's stranded capsule. He then backed away and burned prograde to leave himself in orbit while Valentina prepared for re-entry. Once Valentina splashed down, KASA instructed Verigh to de-orbit also. KASA and Kerbin have a new hero AND KASA's three most experienced kerbalnauts have survived! Some within KASA do not believe there was a malfunction, but instead believe that Valentina mistakenly separated from her booster prematurely. Investigations have begun! One unnamed recovery crew member claims to have smelled vodka on Valentina's breath as she exited the capsule, but Valentina denies she had any alcohol on board her craft.
  10. Sure enough! I grabbed the decoupler and it came away by itself......I have fixed it and it works! Thanks
  11. The next stage's CoM or the whole rocket? I will not be able to put it that high.....bummer.
  12. I have four Kickback SRBs strapped of the side of a liquid stage. I have tried attaching with TT-38K, TT-70, and the hydralic decouplers....when I stage to the liquid engine, the SRBs do not drop off and there are a lot of explosions as I ascend. How best should I couple/decouple a long SRB?
  13. Ok, what is EVA resource Transfer.....something I have been able to do all along?
  14. Well, there were times when I accidentally staged when I meant to throttle up, and sometimes, I had left over before re-entry, so I left it up there. I also want to bring fuel up in stages (pun intended) for long flights.
  15. Is there a way with stock parts to get fuel out of spent boosters orbiting Kerbin, before slowing them down to de-orbit them? Is there a way to transfer fuel between two docked ships, again with stock parts?
  16. I use KER and DockingPortAlignment 6.5.2! I would run out of monopropellant long before successfully docking before DPA6.5.2. Thinking of using ScanSat and KAS.
  17. Yes, I know. The story of this game. Answers beget more questions.
  18. First, I want to thank all for the responses. @Snark, I love the avatar of a Tardigrade! lol I do not see a "Custom01" tab under action groups, but a later post by @bewing explained it. I had not put ANY funds into upgrading the SPH. I had not noticed the faint underline under things like KAS, but now I see them. I will check out Kerbal Alarm Clock, though I can't imagine what I would need it for, yet. I will go back and complete all the training. Loving this game! I finally got to the mün and orbited for 40+ days and returned (without maneuver Nodes). Now I need to figure out how to land. I need to figure out how to do deployable solar panels, and what equipment is needed to dock. I need to figure out science labs. I don't think I have the tech right now.
  19. I have looked through quite a few tutorials and there was only one that helped at all. It was one showing various mods. I installed KER and NOW can get Delta -V and make my rocket designs more efficient. Was able to cut cost of my orbiters by about 65%. Nothing else seems to be of much help. Most tutorials are for older versions of KSP (I am running 1.2.2.xxxx). Either the presenters are assuming sandbox mode, or there is some trick they are not explaining. I am running career mode. e.g. some talk about subassemblies, but I have no idea how to store them for re-use....Action groups....cannot figure out how to create them.....Modular designs....related to subassemblies, I assume, but still no way to do it that I can tell. I see references to things like KAS versus stock, but I have no idea what KAS is. Many tutorials make getting to other than orbit seem easy, with maneuver nodes.....but how do I create one? Clicking in map mode on the flight path does nothing in my game. Do my pilots have to be a certain level? I have seen examples where the pilots have 5 stars of experience, yet I cannot get mine past 1. Can someone write a tutorial on how to get all these neat abilities that others assume you already have? I can get to orbit pretty regularly now, and made one attempt to Mun, periapsis of close approach was ~3km and I crashed. I cannot put up unmanned probes, or satellites due to low tech. Why is it easier to put up a manned flight than an unmanned one. Very unrealistic! I am pretty frustrated with the game now and lack of appropriate level tutorials. Is there a mentoring system where I can ask these sorts of questions?
