Thats a great idea! -
So, I felt like I should probably do some big project to entertain me in ksp. The first thing that came to mind was "what about a super realistic replica of the saturn 5?!". https://imgur.com/a/SZ0uD (imgur album) This is extremely wip, the first stage is 3/4ths done, and its already at 261 parts!

Well, I was doing gasoline for the initial tests, any fuel should work (thats not insane)
-
If you break the heatshield into parts, it greatly increases the risk of "crunch n burn"
-
Carbon fiber is very light, durable, somewhat heat resistant (depending on type), and easy to build with, Im not sure about the expansion problems though, Ill have to look into it. Were not talking about normal home peroxide here, this is 90% peroxide, the stuff that you have is at a upper level of 20%, it can cause chemical burns.

welp, let see I recommend using c/f as the main body shell for the capsule, very thin steel should do (maybe 4 tons full?). I recommend not using hydrazene, saying that its awfully hard to come by, and pretty skin meltingly-dangerous. Im working on a gasoline/gox engine design right now, fuller details soon. Oh, and expansion will be a problem with the steel bars https://imgur.com/iIRnBiF

Well, i vividly remember the last shuttle landing, the teacher put it on the ooooooold classroom tv, i really think that is what got me into space. I also remember those projectors, with the clear plastic, it sounds stupid at this age (it was only 7 years ago!), but when i see one, i get a massive nostalgia hit. Other than that, i really have no other memorys for the past ~10 years of my life

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
RoadRunnerAerospace replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
AAAAAAAAAAAAA One of my friends listens to it...... Constantly, she knows all of the songs, sings 'em. You name it. Drives me bonkers -
I dont know actually

Welp, turns out my crush is dating someone
-
Well, at least you guys have the courage to even approach your crushes. When my crush talks to me (once every blue moon), i get confused (WOAH! SHES TALKING TO ME), and respond with simple one word answers to what theyre asking/saying, weve never had a: a private/not in the middle of class conversation, b: conversation longer than 5 minutes.

Ooook! Ill ask again! I like this girl, i can tell the fact that shes a space nerd due to that ive seen hee wear NASA shirts, spaceshuttle shirts, etc. How should i approach her?
