You should be able to start a new game with a binary system with 2 stars maybe with red dwarfs, white dwarfs or even super massive stars like betelgeuse. There could be systems with neutron stars blackholes allowing huge gravity assists. To sling shot space crafts to travel to other systems. This is like universe sand box but you can fly space crafts.

Is KSP on steam stuck on 1.2 or is it just me because there should be 1.4 and .6 If it is just me please tell me how to update
