So pol is the best option ?

Awsome photos kerbalcrush! Im not that skilled that i build base yet. 1 ore ship that connects to a spacestation. The guy above states that Laythe is impossible , why ? What mun would you choose for this. Ill put the spacestation in the same mun`s orbit.
-
So ive sent my fist probes in and building a comnet. Looking for the best plantet/mun to setup a space station and ore production. Last time i went to duna and did the same job i missed out on the effect of solarpanels. Im guessing jool needs even more panels and for the ore mashine , what solutions do you use there. Pictures appriciated.

Good info. Tried to match the inclination as best as possible now on my 2nd try. The capture angle on eeloo is a bit extreeme.
-
Thats the sheet i use. I got a 2000dV (lowest possible dV from kerbin) from kerbin. Then to make a orbit i used 2300dV . I dont understand cause the dV map says kerbin -> eeloo 950+1140+1370 = 3460dV and i used ~ 4300dV . Might have to try get the inclination better at kerbin launch
-
No science on the relays. Did a test launch. Had to little delta v to catch the orbit. The map says 2000dV to get a encounter , 1370dV to orbit. I would guess i need 2300dV based on the nodes. Why is the delta V map wrong or is it my bad encounter ?

so 1 PB-NUK Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator is enough. But how many solar panels so i need without the PB-NUK Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator on eeloo
-
Got a launch window for eeloo in 22 days. Going to send 2 ra-100 relays. Im guessing the solar power aint enough to run the satellite without overdoing the panels. How many PB-NUK Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator are needed to run Ra-100 and a RC-001S Remote Guidance Unit , im guessing i dont need a extra battery with this layout. or How many 1X6 panels are needed to run it safely at the furthest distance combined with Z-1k Rechargeable Battery Bank brg Bjerrang

Engineer onboard yeah , thus only 2* Tried the fuelcells on mun/minumus , it uses so much lf/ox that is was nearly eating up all produced lf/ox. And the large converter is like 4.5 ton its alot to transfer with. Then i guess i need a craft that connects to the "ore machine" , but that docking will be to hard for me.

Landed on ike with 150dV left as ill keep the space station there aswell. Spacestation has a small lander , that can do landing on duna and return to ike. Next problem was that the ore ship does not get enough power. (has the same setup as on mun/minimus) 2 gigantor solar panels , 2 big drills , small convert o tron , 2 small fuel cells. Guess i have to micro manage it and build a new one and sendt at next launch window. Can i survive with this or do i need to build a new one ? and if so how many gigantor panels do i need ?

Hi Got a ore and spacestation ship enroute duna. Is it better to have them both on ike , since a launch from duna costs alot of dV.?
-
Ive gone to faar earlier with LoS so i naturally pick the big one now. Communotron 16-s / dts-m1 / HG-55 , depends on the ship , ive got 4 more in que for duna spaced 5-7 days. But the second question , my ore & and mobile prosessing lab.
-
So my ships have sailed and on their way to duna, i just love this game. 2 Big Ra-100 polar elliptical orbit as high as i can get. 3 Ra-2 equatorial orbit. The 2 first are now in place , but i was planning to get the 3 in equatorial in geostationary orbit 2.880.000m , but ike is in the path. So tried 4.000.000m but still ike influence. Better to go below ike or even higher ? what are your altitudes on equatorial orbits duna. Second question , i have a space station and a ore craft on the way to duna. Is it better to have them both on ike , since a launch from duna costs alot of dV.?

Comnet mun for a newbe
bjerrang replied to bjerrang's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just found that number on YT. After learning yet some more that are no evenly spaced at 2100km orbit. -
So mun cant have geostationary orbit. But i still need 3 satellites in equatorial orbit. Found out the the orbit should be 2.160.102meters. But how do i find the periaps on the 120 degree spacing to release 1 satelitte per orbit. http://www.skyrender.net/ksp_sync_calculator.html Orbits calculations on this is outside the Sphere of Influence
-
Thanks I will try this. Just circular orbit ? and altitude ? And next question , how many solar panels and batteries on this probe with the RA-100 antenna. (cant find any good info on this , and since i guess transmitting/relay science from a another planet takes some power , i would like to have this correct the first time) Yeah better antennas should do the trick , but its to late now.... 6 satellites per planet quite expensive and a massive job.

No , its stock. But with the tutorial i found in this forum (KSP CommNet Signal Strength Calculator & Antenna Selector) The lvl 3 tracking vs RA-2 on eve its (longest - Shortest) Eve 0% 93% Its seems to match my gameplay. Anyone have a good idea on a deep space comnet probe? The build and number of satellites seem way overdone here: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Tutorial:Setting_up_a_CommNet_system Or maybe im just inexperienced
-
Hi , this is my first question here. I have a m700 satellite with a ra-2 antenna on eve. Now the signal is so weak i can barley control it. Fully upgraded on kerbin.. Tried to send up a RA-100 satellite in a geostationary position over kerbin. But the signal does not improve and goes directly to kerbin. SUggestion and pictures appreciated. Tried to get some hint here: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Tutorial:Setting_up_a_CommNet_system But the satellite build seems way overdone and like 40 satellites on kerbin ??
