  1. Steve, i'm using KSS and GPP combined, along with OPM. That was the best combination of multiple planet packs I could find in order to create the largest play space. Along with that you grab Interstellar extended, the entire USI suite (kolonies, konstruction, life support etc), RemoteTech and then a big key is ResearchBodies +Tarsier telescopes so you won't be able to see any of them aside from the closest ones until you start discovering them. I also took the governments + cash mods so I could be rewarded for things like having a station house many kerbals. Also extra planetary launchpads/Hangar modules for ships because it works well with the USI stuff and with such a large universe it helps to be able to launch in orbit or from established leapfrogging bases as you expand outward from Kerbin. Aside from that, go ahead and add in any that will help in interstellar travel + whatever utilities interest you. Mech Engineer, MechJeb, Transfer Window etc (and for me, personally, ANY mod maintained by linuxgurugamer is going to be good.) In my opinion that describes just about the most fun one could have in KSP via career. Going further, I'd disable anything cushy like reverting launches and such, while allowing yourself bit more tool use.

I have an idea, you can mod your 64 bit Kerbal executable to allow more virtual memory. http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php This helped me get a little more performance. 32gb is really entirely a waste, nothing -can- use it, let alone will. However this patch applied to your 64bit executable will allow KSP to use more virtual memory and you should notice enough of an improvement that you won't have anymore problems. The RAM you ran out of was -virtual- memory. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have plenty of free space on your HDD. It can look like plenty, but then your PC tries to allocate all of it to virtual memory and when you run out of space as a result, it comes up with memory exceptions.
  4. Awesome thanks guys. See, I have the opposite problem, where I just love having as much variety as possible. I'm comfortable with the code enough so I edit any parts that I feel are imbalancing my game , but I often start career mode and thenthen spend 6 hours building my first craft - and then just restart my career because that buuild gave me a ton of ideas of more mods and different parts I want to try haha I'll see if i can use SOME logic to comfortably drop a fraction of the parts in there.if that's what will help most
  5. This is my list of add-ons Even with a top of the line samsung pro series SSD, the game is taking 10-15 minutes to load, which is unheard of for me with ANY software.
