  1. mmm I did on thursday! (In fact, I was asking if it was a viable solution)
  2. Related answer/question. With KIS/KAS, would you "stick" the shipwreck to your ship? Does it count for the contract?
  3. Oh, its a pity. I play 1.3.1 and found no issues.
  4. Maybe for a (afaik) more realistic resources scanning (both the scanning process and the results outcome) you may want to try SCANSat.
  5. You can get the best of both. You can set your prograde maneuver node in orbit, and set a midcourse inclination maneuver node BEFORE burning the first (perhaps you may have to change the number of patched conics in the game menu,so that you can see your current orbit, the one after initial burn, the one after correction burn, and the minmus orbit, I dont know the default value) That way you set effficient burns, but have plenty of time to fiddle with your nodes to grant intercept. (Provide you can burn VERY accurately your nodes)
  6. I hope it is that! (At least in the video it certaintly is the issue) Let me know if you success.
  7. Have you recently moved from 1.3 to 1.4 of newer? Something similar was reported when 1.4 came. Acording to posts from that time, you should try to perfectly align, approach VERY slowly (less than 0.5m/s) and turn off SAS when close (in the video, you have sas off and everything goes crazy just when it is activated). You can align easily if you target each ship with the other, control from port, and use sas to point to target (turn sas off after align)
  8. Mmm but you can get the sample to kerbin for full science. So whats the point of having a station with a lab in lko, if their only advantage is let you transmit the science, when you only have to deorbit the sample? So its only purpose is let you transmit samples science? So I have to put a 4tonnes lab in my tiny probe? (The only other way to use it is to return the probe to lko, rendezvous with my station and transmit the resulting science, but once in lko I can deorbit the probe and get the science without the lab) Then I totally dont see the point of labs in kerbalism (or I am missing something) Edit: even the "lab in my probe" thing is not doable, as I would need a scientific in the lab to make it work
  9. Hi, I've searched but didnt find clear instructions about how labs work in kerbalism. Could someone explain? Can you use you already got science for? Can you use similar samples in different labs? (So, can I have two stations with lab, get three samples of mun lowlands, return one to kerbin, and one for each lab for tripple science gain?) Do placement of the lab matters? I know in stock, but I want to know in Kerbalism. Thanks
  10. You can put a fairing to cover the gap. Fairings can be closed touching a circular shape. Edit:added example Example
  11. My way to do it is: First get to low orbit.(as close as possible to 0 inclination) Then create a maneuver node anywere and increase prograde until its apoapsis is bigger than mun orbit. Then set mun as target and drag the node (forward or backward, as long as it remains "in the future") until you get the encounter. (Having it as target enables position markers that says where your ship and the target will be when you cross its orbit) With minmus is similar, althought you may have to correct the inclination (cheaper in a midcourse burn)
  12. Solved, but just to know more about ksp mechanics: Would ann independent ship, with relay antennae being close enought, do the trick? The lab ship should have a probe core or pod, and those should have a built-in very short range antenna. Would this relay ship open the communication from the lab to kerbin without claw? (I dislike deeply the claw. It looks very unreal to me to succesfully dock two ships by perforating the hull of one of them...)
  13. Ok, thankyou snark, as I said, I am unable to see the pictures in my phone, and I dont use the stock comm network system, so I am unfamiliar with exact distance requirements in stock. Just gave a pair of common "out-of-signal" causes to the OP to check while waiting for a more complete response from you or other experts.
  14. Also, if you are strugling with science, you can get some without even leave the KSC. Every zone and almost every building in the KSC is a minibiome. They yield even less than a regular kerbin biome, but at the beginning of the carreer it is still a lot. You must be landed in a zone (the launchpad, the zone around the astronauts complex, etc, or phisically touching a building (the flag pole, the VAB, etc) when you do the science to get those points.
  15. Cant see the pic,but... first lets check the more tipical causes: maybe duna is between you and kerbin? You need direct line of view. Or you have disable "ground stations" and the ksc is just in the other side of kerbin.
  16. Yes! He answered faster than light! And republished it Here Credits to a10t2 on reddit.
  17. Hi, anybody has his spreadsheet? This I am now far from my pc (where I have a copy) and the link in that post is broken. Thanks in advance!
  18. Good luck to you on Duna! It looks promising! (Grabs pop corn and waits for thread updates)
  19. https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/172400-13x14x15x16x-kerbalism-v211/ Kerbalism is a masochists mod. It has life support, not only with oxigen and water, but also radiation, co2 poisoning, humidity, temperature, habitation, psichologic needs and whatnot, and parts can fail after some time of use. And with Remote Tech you need an active antenna to manage unmanned ships, thus the EC issue. Perhaps I can mitigate it with a Kos script that switchs off everything but the processor, and switches on the antenna when the probe is back on kerbin. Thats the imaginative solution your excellent "10%science" idea leads to.
  20. NewtSoup, you inspired me so much that I drop my former career and started a new one with 10% science. I use KEI for the KSC points and DMagic Orbital Science, so it could probably be easier, but to spice things a bit more, installed Kerbalism and Remote Tech. I am happily strugling. My first orbital flight gave me the last only point I needed to get Basic Science, but without solar panels, I dont think it will let me visit mun with a probe. Too much time to depend on batteries... I hope not to be in a dead end. Anyway, its being really funny.
  21. In ksp, when I send a sat, I put on it every single science gadget I have unlocked. What are the reasons it is not possible IRL? Economical? Weight? Others?
