I put a flag on Hydron
-
Today I got my steam install to work and then experimented a bit with KFS: "Upwards bound"
-
I've launched a satellite to collect precious Graviolium from Rhode's orbit: Also used this craft to test a new engine layout with 4 Thor-tech aerospikes in NFA radial engine pods attached to an upside-down Kerbodyne ADTP-2-3 fuel tank. Actually quite workable design when you need a 3.75m (collector) satellite with engines that don't get in your way when you try to dock with it.
-
My Hydrus Expedition has finally returned home. Lander has already performed the deorbiting burn, but the engine section hasn't been decoupled yet. Meanwhile, I've launched a probe to Gateway
-
...Meanwhile, I visited Leto: The location I've landed at was actually quite interesting. There was a mysterious stone arch there. And a brave pilot went flew there to explore the anomaly: Turns out, it's just a stone arch. But one gets quite a view from its top. With this, I've planted a flag on every rocky body within the Ciro system. There is still the nearby Grannus system to explore, but I think I will take a break from this save for a while and go back to my BH career for a bit.
-
Today, I've achieved first orbit around Leto
-
Craft is using an assortment of Near Future parts (with tweakscale) and some DMagic science parts too.
-
Planted a flag on Hox: Watching the sun from the local monolith: Time to go home...
-
Today, my Nero expedition departed for Gael: Meanwhile, the Hox mission arrived to an easy intercept of Argo, so that's were I went first: And now we go to Hox:
-
Landed on Julia:
-
Visited Agrippina: Now off to Julia to complete Nero-VI tour:
-
As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words: ...And, damn, it's so dark out there...
-
Put a flag on Minona:
-
Today I planted a flag on Hadrian
-
I got ready to land on Hadrian: And a beauty-shot of the moon:
-
Today I planted a flag on Muse. Spooky... Apparently, there is some bug with terrain, and it starts fading into transparent at about 1km from craft. (or when you go below around 20-25km while in orbit)
-
Moved one of my mapping satellites to Hadrian.
-
I've planted flag on Narisse
-
The manned part of my Nero expedition has finally arrived: Also a beauty shot of Nero's night side:
-
I've begun exploring Narisse:
-
My Nero mission began arriving:
-
After a long timeskip (~370 days) Hox Vanguard has arrived to its destination: - Since I was doing a rather aggressive transfer, I needed a massive deceleration burn upon arrival. Thankfully the transfer stage had enough fuel to perform a massive 14 km/s burn. And don't be fooled by the scale of the dish - those engines are enormous 3.75m monstrosities with slightly over 2.5 MN of thrust between them: - Guess which little twinkle here is the Sun Ciro: - Finally in designated orbit and awaiting the rest of the "fleet":
-
Tarsiss's atmosphere feels very soupy and it's tall (130km). You need to use Eve-ish ascent profile and even then, you need a lot of dV - my lander has rather cheaty characteristics (ok, just plain cheaty: 5 km/s dV when landed on Gael) and I still barely escaped Tarsiss.
-
Today, I've planted a flag on Tarsiss
-
I've landed on Catullus: I also took this beauty shot of Gael:
