  1. Just out of curiosity, have you thought about trying to implement your service module with an external module? i.e. ASAS, RCS, and some regular fuel all combined in one package.

  3. Very nice, this would be an amazing system to explore. I only hope the actual system turns out this interesting (assuming this doesn\'t end up being the official system). I like the move of Tiberius to Jumiper, too. A Venus-like moon is much better than a Venus-like planet, imo Looking forward to the Space Engine version.
  4. Yea, this is the first time I\'ve tried them and I\'m really pleased how well they worked out. Very stable and the same impact tolerance as fins. I think this may become my default system of choice until we get real stock landing legs.
  5. Ok, did it this time in 4:00:00 exactly. Most of the savings was in correcting my path at the Mun, although I burned a lot more fuel, which meant a slightly slower return trip.   6. Yep, 100% stock. I\'ll try to get some pics later tonight, I was actually just doing a test flight to see if my staging was right and then got carried away, so I didn\'t bother taking documentation.
  7. To the Mun and back in 5:56:32. Arrival and departure speeds at the Mun were both over 2 km/s, but I missed the Mun by a couple hundred km and had to spend 2 hours putzing around before I could land, so under 4 hours might be possible. Hit the admosphere coming back at over 4.5 km/s and pulled 69 Gs
  8. I\'d say lander engine, since it\'s partially recessed. Lander engine you\'re really concerned with overall length, where as an upper stage engine can be as long as you like (within limits).

  10. In my eagerness for the release of 0.14, I lost faith, I began to doubt the Probe. But the Probe spoke to me, through His prophet Jebediah, and gave me hope once again, that we shall be reunited with the Probe, that we can join together in His Holy Orbit, and persist there for all eternity! :hailprobe: The Probe then commanded me to make holy pilgrimage to the site of His temple on Kerbin, now long deserted, and by necropost awaken once again the holy Hailing of His people!   11. I\'m tempted to see what she\'ll do if I turn those boosters into another full stage, but I think my computer needs some time to recover...
  12. Oi, that was a lovely slideshow, but I got 52 tanks into orbit successfully. A ring of 8 stacks of 6 surrounding a core of 4 (separated by two rings of radial decouplers to make enough room) for 4+8*6=52. All payload stacks had an LV-T45 separated by an rcs tank and a decoupler on the bottom. Upper stage consisted of another 8x6 ring of tanks surrounding the payload, with LV-T30s as well as plumbing into the engines on the payload. First stage consisted of a ring of 16 stacks of 6, again with LV-T30s and plumbed into upper stage. Finally, 16 liquid boosters of 3 tanks and an LV-T30 not plumbed to first stage. The flight was a slideshow until I dropped the boosters and first stage, so I just shot straight up, reaching an apogee of about 85km. Then I pitched over with the upper stage, dipping down to about 65km before reaching orbital velocity. Final orbit was 107.8x108.6km. After separating upper stage and capsule, I did some docking practice (not pretty, I miss Orbiter\'s docking mfd ), then de-orbited, landing in the ocean east of KSP. With a five-stage monstrosity that bears a striking resemblance to the Burj Kalifa It's actually quite a bit of overkill, I could probably put two or three satellites in an escape trajectory without sweating it. I had a smaller design that probably could have done it, but then I got one-more-stage-itis and this was the result.
