literally everyone wants this to work for 1.5.1.
I have RSS but not RO, and i want this to be updated. I know the only reason this is not updated is because supporting mods haven't been updated, but perhaps you could make this work without those mods.

We may need more information. When you say a "Save on 1.3.1" do you mean an entire install of KSP for version 1.3.1? Or a save game that you or someone else made while playing 1.3.1?
If the former, just put it in its own directory (you should have several subdirectories and if you're missing anything critical it won't work) and run ksp_x64.exe from within there.
If the latter, then you may need a 1.3.1 install on which to run it. In that install, or your current install if you want to see if it'll work on the current version (it probably will) place it in your ksp folder in the saves folder, and make a new folder with the name of your save. So it'll be \<whatever your ksp folder is>\saves\1.3.1_save\persistent.sfs Finally, make a "ships" folder and within that folder make a VAB and a SPH folder, so you can build ships in the two buildings
More info. Ok.
This 1.3.1 save is used for Realism Overhaul, and I have a different save for 1.5.1 for stock gameplay. I'm trying to see if I can place this second save game somewhere so I can click and open it anytime. Like a shortcut. but whenever I click the 'Launcher' folder in the KSP directory, it shows an error instead of starting up in KSP 1.3.1.

Hello. I have a save for KSP on 1.3.1 and want to load it from the File Explorer, but I do not know how. If I move it to the Desktop (screen with apps) it will still not work.
The way I am doing this is by clicking 'Launcher' inside the KSP directory.
Is there any other way to do this?

Hello, @GameData!
Simply put, Realism Overhaul is not out for 1.5.x yet. It isn't even 1.4.x ready due to the sheer number of mods it is comprised of. And these mods are way more than just parts, they're occasionally rewrites of a feature (FAR changes the atmosphere a lot, for example) and a lot of these depend on each other for the work they do.
Until all of the dependent mods (or at least all of the important ones) are updated for 1.5.x there will not be a 1.5.x release of RO, so unfortunately you will have to downgrade to 1.3.1.
If you want to play career, unfortunately RP-0 (RO/RSS career) is only at 1.2.2, so you may have to downgrade all the way back to 1.2.2. There is RP-1 which is 1.3.1 but that is highly experimental and currently (I think) only available through their Discord.
Good luck getting this to work! My RO save is still 1.2.2.
Also, welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy your stay!
Thanks for the info, I just wanted a way to use realistic rockets like SLS or Falcon Heavy. I hope the other mods I got will work with 1.5.1x.

Hi.
I have Kerbal Space Program 1.5.1 with Making History Expansion.
I also have Realism Overhaul and its dependecies: Real(Chute, Plume, Fuels, heat), ModuleManager, Advanced Jet Engine, SmokeScreen, Kerbal Joint Reinforcement, and Ferram Aerospace Research.
Although, the game says Realism Overhaul, Real(Plume,Fuels,Heat, and Chute), Kerbal Joint Reinforcement and Ferram Aerospace Research are only compatible with 1.3.1. All these mods takes away some needed components, and replaces them with different ones. But, not any from Realism Overhaul that I know of.Sure, there's an "SLS Tank", but it's just a few 3.75m Kerbodyne engines placed on to of each other. It even says that in the description!
Do I have to downgrade to 1.3.1? I don't want to lose the features of the Making History expansion.

I play a modded save of KSP 1.5.1 and use the mod Kargantua System. I have KSPRC installed, but not EVE and Scatterer. From the file, I have downloaded 2 items: KargantuaSystem, the actual system, and INSTANTIATOR, the accreation disk. But with only INSTANTIATOR, the disc is a great big 2d square. How can I fix this?
