Thanks! I realised occlusion was set to 0.8 so it was letting some signal through the planet, set it to 1 and it is fully occluded now.

Does kerbalism work well with real antennas? Seems like it does but ive found that planets don't occluded the signal, not sure if real antennas is overwriting this or I've set it up wrong. Didn't have this with remote tech. Any ideas?
