Before you read this great tutorial, make sure you read my old thread. Read this, you'll understand our progression, and you might think why aren't we doing almost ZERO science things in our first mission I call it. Again, download the "new orbiter" (It's in the last thread). Don't remove the science jr btw - , we still have around 20% of science in there. As usual, launch it. Use MJ to show you if it's the first career you ever did, you'll understand how to fly this rocket. If you successfully MANUALLY launched a mission into orbit and back and know how to use manuever nodes, do it yourself. We want a 80x80km orbit However we want the gravity turn in 52.7m/s If you are using mechjeb reduce it from 98.9m/s to 52.7m/s with the ascent path editor. Cut the boosters when they run out of fuel like normal and your center core should auto ignite Shut your engine down when AP is 80000m/80km. Pop a maneuver node and do your orbital insertion burn, for beginners just download MJ/mechjeb mod from here. In a stable orbit, observe the material bay then EVA your kerbal, grab those data and do a EVA report in a different biome every time. Go through highlands near ksc, though we need to land in mountains When your attitude is under 10000m do a crew report and a EVA report, above highlands. When you're 1000m above mountains do a EVA report When you're landed in mountains do a EVA report and recover vessel There we go! Our first mission is finished! With 100.5 science, go for electrics in the R&D facility Without saying much, download this. Fly it into a 80x80 orbit. Increase your AP to 251km. Timewarp to 250km. Hit backspace, then right click the ESU and collect all of that data EVA your kerbal, collect the data of one of the remaining goo units. Land in grasslands. Ditch the first stage. Deploy your parachute. After landing take a crew report. Take a EVA report on the surface Go for Miniaturization in the R&D Using the new EVA experiments kit, let your pilot roll the golf ball on the launchpad after diving off the ladder. Take the science Recover the vessel Before you continue to watch this fantastic tutorial, you might ask, why are we getting funds instead of science? Not that we're going to the administration building. Now, as always, accept a contract to ship 2 more tourists to space (If I wasn't wrong it was 10 last time so we're increasing it to 12). Launch them to space for money with our reusuable rocket! You should have it in your ksp files already you already downloaded it. But the pilot would need a experiment kit in his/her inventory on the first mission, alongside the jetpack. Once you reached 69km quicksave, right click the pilot once you reach 70km, EVA your kerbal and do the experiment after diving out the ladder of the pod get your kerbal back in reentry and landing done then ship the rest w/ the normal one upgrade the R&D. Why? We're not going above the level 5 limit. You'll see Put a empty command pod with nothing, no cargo no monopropellant no ablator nothing Put Bob inside EVA Bob Take a surface sample and you'll get 9 science Recover vessel Do the same for runway and you'll also get 9 science Do it again in the runway Store the experiments in the pod Let Bob walk out for around 6 minutes, timewarp makes things faster Take a surface sample there It should say "shores" instead of runway Recover bob and the empty command pod. We're close, but only have 89.5 science still that's easy, take a surface sample in the launchpad again. Of course. Now we have 91.8 science, go for advanced constructions mostly for fairings Now what? We're low in science. Lets ship tourists into orbit for more money and a chance for science in grasslands by taking surface samples! Another one is to finish contracts. That's easy and fast Accept a trivial contract that says "Science data from space around kerbin". It should give 3 science. Then download this. This SSTO is going to bring the cheap and light satellite into orbit. Launch it into a 80x80km orbit once you're attitude reaches 70km ditch the fairing when you ditched the stage, log the tempurature and transmit it There you go! 3 easy science. After you finish that, accept another 2. There should be 2. Log the tempurature and transmit it too NOW we can go to the space center to ship tourists this is the tourist orbital rocket target to LAND in highlands not just go past it. Take a surface sample for 9 science One thing we want to do for crew safety, is to remove debris. Go to the tracking station Remove the Single stage to orbit that brought satellite 1 into orbit Satellite 1 is now classified as debris for us right now - we've already got 9 science from it Terminate those, even though the percentage is small, like 0.1%, we might have a chance of bumping it in orbit, or we need to use delta v We don't want that, do we? We do want a EVA experiment in 250km, some kind of atmosphere pressure scan in orbit. So why don't we edit the 250km craft? Yup. Remove the science jr and all science materials on it. Put a presmat barometer on it. Go to a 250x80km orbit. When in space but under 250km log the presmat barometer. After reaching 250km let your kerbal conduct EVA science land it on grasslands take a surface sample Now we have 78.3 science Go to the shores take a surface sample, EVA report. Now we have over 90 science, lets go for fuel systems This tutorial is finished! Check

If you wanted more pictures I can try adding some more I just finished it
-
You know what? Even though it's not completely finished (though almost, still haven't write the part about landing), it's kinda dead, I wished I helped a newbie for sure
-
wait you don’t have breaking ground?
-
i would deploy it over 70km to save weight science and experience, getting ready for the first manned mun mission, the Mun 4 Mission
-
download the whole spacecraft, what's under the spark engine is it https://kerbalx.com/Anonymous49/Mun-1-satellite
-
i thought it was in the KER! 205,046kg Wait i need to eat dinner right now
-
this? seems good a shuttle external fuel tank with 4 (instead of 3 in the shuttle) shuttle engines and 2 expended explorer booster 1 w/ the engine replaced with a skipper for better isp. A cheetah 1-A second stage w/ an adapter.

help attaching struts in orbit
Anonymous49 replied to si2504's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
click on i while in eva -
that's the command module
-
second, forgot that the first one tipped over and crashed due to landing leg problem? 2 Communotron 16 Level 2 tracking station 158.11Mm That's enough. Also the command pod built in one 15.81Mm which is the mun. Not apollo, just the style, I want the data to come back in full value but wanted to keep it on the surface of the mun. So I used a orbiter to take the science from the lander.
-
the crew will ORBIT the mun and the lander will LAND. The lander will dock the orbiter and put all the science into the ESU, the scientific items will be dumped and land again so scientists could hopefully go there soon
-
i know, but i need some experience if there is no flying low then in space high in kerbin i never wanted them to be in the same biome in the first place i only have limitled amount landing in northwest crater

How to land at Eve???
Anonymous49 replied to Kerbals_of_Steel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
ok the photo in the file shows only the lander -
i mean all science materials is in the lander 1. in space high above the mun 2. in space low above the mun 3. above the mun, close to the surface (flying low) 4. landed on the mun
-
btw i cannot store 4 goo units in the pod, any tricks to do it? or anything that can? is the ESU possible for this?
-
thanks , but my redesign was too heavy to be launched from both explorer 1 or any kinds of cheetah 1 (cheetah 1 162). But I only need to do a injection burn with the rocket, the rest uses the CSM IT'S 7.444 TONNES sorry for caps not lying check KerbalX - Mun 1 satellite
-
i used an ant engine btw, check the craft files the service module have 2260m/s of delta v, is that enough to do the mun orbital insertion? And crossfeeding a bit of fuel should be good now i used 2 ant engines and have 1745m/s of delta v after some upgrades
-
wait there's 614m/s in the lander
-
Alright so my mun 1 mission. So this is what I needed to launch Obviously it's like apollo but different Detach the lander from the orbiter in mun orbit Land the lander in Northwest crater At first I thought of just transmitting data from the surface and keep it there but I need to change. They don't give 100%. So a crewed orbiter could obviously take the data back home I would dock the lander with the orbiter Then take all the data from the lander to the orbiter Ditch the lander Then land again in the same biome Just wanna ask, can a 300s burn with a TWR of 1.08 on the mun (about 150m/s dV) possible for all this? Or do I need to add more? ANy suggestions? Go back home with the orbiter Ditch the service module Reentry Landing in Kerbin Then what's the problem? Rocket problems obviously. Which rocket is best suited? This? It's the newest creation, it's also very efficient. Or this, the original idea, launches slightly more payload This is how is it for now, any other questions would be commented, thanks guys many is nice in this forum for me :). a little update here: it's 6.191 tonnes for the whole spacecraft

How to land at Eve???
Anonymous49 replied to Kerbals_of_Steel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
not trying to complain but 66.5 TONNES! My first mun lander W/ FAIRING is 1.4 tonnes.
