  1. Really feels like you're peering over with this rotated view. Love it.
  2. Is this relative to surface rotation, or is the 24-hour loop not considered? Also, gotta say, that eccentric orbit drop from the sky looks a little extreme for reentry of a human-rated vehicle, but maybe it does relatively softer aerobraking passes like Apollo did?.
  3. I had it installed via CKAN. You can use CKAN alongside a few manually installed mods just fine.
  4. Not sure. You'd have to ask the mission planners about that one, really. I would guess the former.
  5. It will be performing the burn during LOS. If we're real lucky, they might have recorded it for later, but it won't be live.
  6. The KSP elitist in me is confused and angry at the use of four Skipper engines as an asparagus stage for a Dres lander. Distaste of spacecraft design aside, the canyon looks plain bad. At the absolute least, KSP2 will have very well-made terrain compared to KSP1, even with mods. It also mentioned that new parts would be available during early access, but we have yet to see any of them. I hope it's not just like a single new rocket engine, but actually a decent suite of parts to set KSP2 apart from KSP1. Edit: I just realised I responded to a message from over 20 days ago. I am so sorry, and I have no idea how that happened. I am in agreement with all of this. As much as we've been allowed to look into their processes and so on, does it really feel any different to 2019? I'm against rushing, but it feels like an absolutely sluggish pace. Given how we've already seen a lot of assets for the future though, at least that aspect has been developed well. Also, I recall hearing that we're going to give feedback during each phase of development to make sure each update actually meshes well with the previous ones, and it's not just Early Access. I like the idea, but why they didn't decide to do this earlier baffles me.
  7. There's live footage of Orion at the Moon right now. Will get real close soon.
  8. Out of curiosity, have you tested the use of airbrakes for a bellyflop landing?
  9. You're mentioning that like it's an official feature. Also, iirc it was said that robotic parts weren't returning, so you couldn't do a SpaceX-style belly flop if you wanted to.
  10. Aged like milk how? I don't understand. Is it because SLS won't launch enough to catch up with Starship, or that SLS launched first, making it more reliable than Starship right now? "Falcon 9 Heavy may some day come about. It's on the drawing board right now. SLS is real" Yeah now that is aging like milk. Starship is close to launching for the first time (then again, it's always close to launching, whether it's 2020 or 2022.)
  11. It means it's before the alpha build, where there should at least be a somewhat functional game put together. It seems like they're going to work through the Alpha and Beta phases in just a few months though. Not sure how that's going to go.
  12. Also pressure to keep up with Russia. Just a loose end to tie up really. Once the USSR dissolved, and Russia screwed up on both N1 and Energia, the US didn't see much reason to proceed proper. Something's telling me that this will change when China starts sending manned missions to the Moon.
  13. It could approximate it. The location of the damage doesn't need to be kept, but if individual parts maintain their own small integers describing the damage, a procedural texture could be placed over the top based on that damage. This is probably a job for Kerbalism / RO. I'm all for it, but half the reason to delete permanent objects is due to memory usage. I only usually have about 3 or 4 active vessels at any one time, and delete debris / unused spacecraft when I get an opportunity to do so.
  14. Is that 6:37 am? Seems off to me Edit: Saw GMT message. How far is this in minutes/hours?
  15. Oh damn I'm stupid. L- isn't T-. I got it now. Comparing the time to my own clock right now, and what you said clicked https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/launch?p0=5153&iso=20221116T0104 Edit: So last time SLS tried to launch, there was a hold at T-40 minutes, which isn't the same as a 40-minute hold. I'm curious about how the IT guys are doing.
  16. *Sorry meant the hold was put further into the future. The hold still hasn't happened. According to that timeline, it was supposed to happen at T-40, but it didn't.
  17. But that hold is likely just a smaller amount of time, I guess. What's the length of the hold then?
  18. Taking about 70 minutes definitely means the time is going to be pushed ahead. We'll be stuck in the 40 minute hold for a long while.
  19. Well, if you had the atmosphere and gravity of Titan, maybe. That thing didn't even work at its original scale.
  20. I mean, you could add "+Like" on the end of the comment to make up for it, I guess. Maybe it'll be a little cheesy, but your intention would come across. +Like
  21. I'm saving my likes for the big moment*, where we'll get plenty of fun banter. * = launch / scrub
  22. Somewhere on the upper stage I think. I'm also jumping in and out.
