  1. If you by struts mean strut connectors then they where added in v0.9. I remember the time before the strut connector.. Everything wobbled
  2. If you read the opening post then you would know that you are allowed to do that "Licensed under the BSD license, as if he cared." Hmm I think I might make a plugin with a menu where you select a stage(s?) and assign a hotkey to it. That would allow you to make launch escape systems with any decoupler. (Or assign hotkeys to fire missiles, etc)
  3. I did drop my second stage a bit outside the base but that was after the explosions. And I did load a lander before I landed just to check for dangerous landing spots. I\'ll try again tomorrow. Its 0:30 here now =P
  4. On the other hand the lander in the background (the one far behind my lander lying down) was the one with the explosion and it has a wide landing gear S:| Update: We could maybe merge my lander into the previous save? But I think this is going to happen again.. When I look at page 2 in this thread it looks like this has happened at the base before.
  5. I think so. It looked like the landers where all dropped from about 10m.. Some of them fell over and something exploded. Wider landing legs might be a temporary fix until the actual bug is fixed.
  6. I swear I didn\'t touch them =P It happened when I were near the base at the same time something exploded. I think it is related to the following bug: 'Landed vessels sometimes explode when approached by the player (as when landing near other landed ships)' This has also happened when I loaded a landed ship in my own save file.
  7. Because merging works does we really need a queue now?
  8. Done 8) But I saw explosions at the base before the landing.. Are Jeb at the base?
  9. 1. stage 6 regular engines with 3 gimballed engines in the middle to make it fly straight and keep it controllable. This stage is designed to do most of the work for achieving orbit around Kerbin. 2. stage 1 gimballed engine. Designed to do a small burn for the orbit around Kerbin, a trans munar injection, and most of the decent to Mun. Lander stage This stage is only powered by RCS and is designed to land on Mun. Around 50 seconds of RCS fuel. 10. This should be quite easy. 1. Make a new SAS model (or reuse the default) 2. Make a script for the model that will set the target of the SAS to the inverse velocity vector when the SAS module is activated. 3. When the direction vector is within A% of the inverse velocity vector, the SAS module activates all engines below at B% throttle. 4. The throttle is set to 0% when the periapsis of the vessel is below C. (more steps could be added to activate parachutes and so on...) Edit: Forgot about the rail system. It might be a huge problem.. even for scripts in general.
  11. The smallest rocket that have landed on Mun (IIRC): Command module 1 x Fuel tank 2 x side decouplers with Fuel tanks connected with fuel lines 1 x Engine I have never tried that myself but I have seen it a few times here on the forums.
  12. When I fly to the mun in the silent space:

  14. [li]Using a SAS-module during landing may reduce the amount of fuel used by liquid engines a lot, and make it much easier to land because you don\'t have to concentrate about the rocket tipping over. [/li] [li]When flying to the mun the apoapsis shouldn\'t be the same as the distance to the mun because that would make the mun coming very fast directly towards you! Instead try to make the apoapsis a bit lower or higher than the distance to the moon. (the higher apoapsis seems to be optimal but I haven\'t confirmed that yet)[/li]
