  1. I've read about the Lenovo thing too and agree with holding off for a while on those products. Other than that, I've owned a Razer Deathadder mouse, treated it with love and care but it died on me after a month. I know it's not a laptop, but if the build quality is the same.... From what I hear, Alienware products are pretty sought after, known for their quality but steep prices. Certainly there must be some more options out there? Especially if you're going for a used one. Carefull though, laptops are notorious for breaking down fast because of the smaller cases, so inquire about how long the person had it. I must say I'm a little envious. I still have a car to buy first.
  2. It's the spiritual sequel to: Too Human.
  3. For some reason, when starting a new career, I always get a contract that asks me to test-fire a Rockomax BACC Solid Fuel Booster in ORBiT! Ow come on! That's just ridiculous! It's too Kerbal... I have tried doing the contract anyway, even keeping 100% of the fuel until it was due time, but it's still too hard for me to complete it "the legitimate way".
  4. For me, it's to a have good time however I want without it burdening others.
  5. On weekdays I average around a little over an hour. Usually, I design a craft on one day and (try to) fly it on the next.
  6. Sounds like you're too hung up on moving the CoL. I know, there's not much you can/want to change about the wings, being so iconic that they are. Try moving the CoM instead. Not just adding weight, but try to relocate heavy components more to the rear if you can. And/or swap out heavy components for equalivalent but lighter ones. It should be a little behind the CoM, indeed, not "way behind" like you said. I don't know the "sweet spot" for a shuttle though. Perhaps some of the Shuttle-experts can pitch in on this.
  7. Can't you move some stuff on the desk to make room for the laptop? Perhaps install some fold out table? It needn't be an expensive solution. Minecraft has pretty high requirements since it uses a Java-engine. I've an i7 laptop with 4GB RAM and it runs Minecraft OK. Just ok though, not good or bad. Graphics are tuned lower than normal for a smooth experience. I don't know how an i3 will perform. Don't get me wrong. I loved it when my dad and I played together! There's nothing like it and I'll always fondly remember those times!
  8. Call it an "obvious one", but I'm watching Star Trek: The Next Generation with my girlfriend! We've never seen them all when it originally aired here, so now we're watching them all in sequence. Most of the time there's nothing worth watching on TV here. Good time to watch an episode or two. Currently on the last season! Then, it's on to Voyager!
  9. Okay, I think I understand now. And here I was thinking that all real world physics apply to KSP.. Still love KSP though!
  10. What a monstrosity! I love it... So how does it steer exactly? I couldn't see. I did see a lot of SAS-units on top, pure-mega-SAS-power or is it articulated?
  11. Sure I heard of traction, but Jakalth talked about a higher top-speed, not acceleration. More friction alone does not account for a higher top-speed, it helps for cornering and with a stronger engine, better acceleration. Think about a tour-racing-bike. It's tires are much smaller than those from a regular bike. Less resistance, thus a higher top-speed can be achieved using the same cyclist. I don't know enough about the infiniglide-bug, so you may be right about that one!
  12. Hi JAD_Interplanetary. Welcome! Don't feel bad about lurking. Many here started out like that. First you have to scope out a joint to see if it's worth joining right? Indeed, the KSP-community is one of, if not, the best communities there is!
  13. Actually, I don't think it's a glitch. I'd rather think it's because the wings take (some of) the weight off the truck. Less weight results in less resistance on the wheels, hence a higher speed.
  14. Hi pheeph! I like your idea! Maybe you could consider making the ramp more gradual, like real life aircraft ski-jumps. I know, the picture shows a Harrier on it with excellent short-takeoff capability when fully loaded. That's not fair... But the way it is now, when an aircraft hits the ramp, it hits it hard because of the instant angle it's forced to make.
  15. Ater your request I ran some more tests, but I think I know what happened. If I grab a "fresh" Small Gear Bay from the part-menu it's longer than the Small Gear Bay's that are already present on the currently saved craft. When the craft is Launched or Saved & Loaded, all Small Gear Bay's are short again. Too bad... there goes my plan to use the longer ones for nosewheels! Thanks for the input though!
  16. Well, I'm a little stumped how I did this or if it's already known. Today I was working on a tanker-plane and it was in need of an extra pair of Small Gear Bay's. I rotated the whole plane, from the cockpit, on it's "back". First I placed the front Small Hardpoints and on top of them the Small Gear Bay's. Then I planted the rear Small Hardpoints and on top of these also the Small Gear Bay's. However, I wanted these rotated. So I did that using the keyboard buttons. I always seem to turn my objects in the other 2 wrong axis first before I use the right one! So when I finally had them oriented how I wanted them, I ended up with the rear Small Gear Bay's being longer than the front ones! See for yourself: Like I said, I can't seem to replicate this, but I don't think this is normal behaviour. Is it?
  17. Although I don't like the color bands of the left, it does look more 3-dimensional than the right one. That one looks "flat" by comparison.
  18. Nice clean geometric design! I'm impressed it's not some thrown together lump of wings!
  19. It rekindled the love of spacefaring in a lot of people. Inspired many to pursue a related job. It's the first reusable orbital spacecraft. It looks awesome of course!
  20. Sometimes I use caligraphy to "simulate" the old style handwriting of Santa. Makes it look like it really came from him. Also something relevant;
  21. Jeb is stranded, having climbed into the cockpit of a plane that ran out of fuel that was trying to save him after crashing in his plane doing a survey on the north pole.
  22. Nice job Yukon0009! Any plans of making an Orion spaceplane?
  23. Hmm... I remember my first post being a Welcome-Aboard introduction post. Guess I'm more of a kind guy than I thought... And more forgetful too!
  24. Take a look at real rockets and see how they are contructed. With rockets using staging, for instance, you can see that going up, each stage is smaller, less powerfull, lighter than the one(s) before. You don't need to know the exact delta-V's. And when things do go wrong, and they will, learning why is the most important thing. Also, I don't know if you are but, playing in sandbox helps with confidence as well. With unlimited funds and the Immortal Kerbal Trio there's almost nothing you can't do! Then you can tackle carreer more confidently.
  25. Nowadays using 0.90, I personally haven't had any weird things happen to my craft and almost each one has some light clipping for aesthetics. Only when using physical warp do I have problems though I guess that's not related to clipping. Indeed, with older versions, my craft sometimes spontaneously combusted!
