I had the same problem in space when launching a command vessel in a cargo container, when the vessel was realeased he didnt show any trajectory anymore and indeed his status was "landed". I resolved it by removing the cargo hold, turns out aerodynamics didnt need it. But yeah I think it's a bug, total begginer here though.
