Thanks for the advice, I think I got it! Sidenote: trying to mix radial and mirror symmetry is a real ...... -

Double post, but I got a start on the fairing and am kind of stuck. I'd like to avoid making it any wider to preserve the looks, but without doing so I think my only other option is using elevons to fill the gaps, which is gonna be pretty heavy on part count. Thoughts? -

Working on a recreation of Lockheed Martin's Jupiter tug and Exoliner cargo module. Just need a fairing for the Atlas V and it should be done. -

The Fuji capsule, no? I've always liked the shape of it. -
Like NASA, but Frizzank.

I had no idea it was so big...

Well, the BE-4 is an engine that exists and has been in development/testing for some years. Blue Origin's fact sheet also shows it with a metal engine bell: https://d1ljm9hc65qhyd.cloudfront.net/press-releases/2014-09-17/BE-4-Fact-Sheet.pdf

Going off of the model shown at the press conference, BE-4 looks silver
-
Does the BE-4 have a carbon bell? That's not meant as a criticism, I'm genuinely curious. The only models/renders I've seen have shown a silver, metal engine bell.

Yours absolutely looks more practical/useable. EJ's launches take about 30 minutes due to the physics slowdown. -

Awesome work, but I think the title of best shuttle replica has to go to EJ_SA on Twitch: -
Custom hardware control/switch panel - simpit WIP

I'd be interested, depending on what the final price comes up to of course. -

I need to build a proper launcher for it, and I think the front still needs a bit of work, but otherwise I'm quite happy with how my new crew shuttle has turned out. -
It's a replica

There's no need to whine about it. If people had anything to say in response, they'd respond. -

That seemed to solve it, thanks! It's amazing what a difference that makes. I only had 8 large wing panels facing the "wrong" direction and my rocket took a nosedive into KSC every time. -

I've tried making fairings out of wing panels before but my rockets always want to turn upside-down in flight with them. Have you found a way around this? -
Wow, awesome IVA!

The Stock Craft Repository (v0.25)
ethan829 replied to Roflcopterkklol's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Just finished this up a couple days ago. I've made a few SS2 replicas in the past, but the SP+ parts have really helped with aesthetics and accuracy. Downloads: The whole Tier 1b assembly, SS2 and WK2: http://www./view/jc42a8rrzyrzzsd/Tier_1b.craft SpaceShipTwo on its own: http://www./view/lb25rpo9cr01v8g/SpaceShipTwo.craft WhiteKnightTwo on its own (with a sorta hidden docking port in the cetner to control from): http://www./view/6bgvgolldc4gae7/WhiteKnightTwo.craft And a WhiteKnightTwo subassembly in case you want to carry your own payload: http://www./view/kx4px3i81n9eulk/WhiteKnightTwo_Subassembly.craft SpaceShipTwo gets a little unstable towards the end of its burn and wants to nose down. I'd suggest throttling back when fuel starts running low. -
SpaceShipTwo+WhiteKnight [0.25]

Kind of a blend of Scaled Composite designs. The spacecraft is more SpaceShipOne-esque, with a scaled-down WhiteKnightTwo carrier. -
Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo and WhiteKnightTwo

You think so? This is maybe one of the only real uses I've found for it. I thought it matched the real thing pretty well. I just wish the Mk. 3 cockpit internals mod had been maintained. -
