  1. (Should probably have mentioned. 1. I\'m open to other offers. 2. I can trade my vouchers before they go out if you want.)
  2. You\'re posting TF2 support... in the KSP forum... =P In all seriousness, yeah, you should probably ask Valve, not Squad!
  3. To be honest, I want the Orange Box. I have HL2 and Portal, but getting the 2 episodes and a TF2 premium account for abour £7.50 (I have a 1/2 price Valve voucher) is really tempting... if someone wants Just Cause 2, I\'ll give them a half price voucher and trade the Orange Box for Just Cause 2...
  4. Hmm, mine doesn\'t do that. Mine does... Place on ship. Hit launch. Loads longer than usual. Straight to that video. Orbit all over the place. Nothing does anything.
  5. http://youtu.be/Aws-T3iC2FI (May take a while to process)
  6. Well you\'re already going in an (almost) perfectly circular orbit around the sun on the pad, so that\'s not really too surprising...
  7. Just got a trojan loading this page... :S someone hosting images somewhere dodgy or...?
  8. Hmm. I prefer Kerbos. They are 'Kerbonaughts' after all!
  9. Also, it\'s Kerbos, not Kerbals. Ahem.
  10. Er... Yes, the thread is old, but it\'s also someone\'s project. A released file. If someone wants to post talking about said file, then I\'d think they can. Just because nobody else has in a while doesn\'t mean people may not still be interested in the contents of the thread. In this case the post was rather pointless, but still.
  11. I\'ve been enjoying interesting combinations of struts, fuel lines, and radially mounted tanks recently. The Goliath line of space heavy-lifters is the result. This version is not suitable for Mun landings! You probably won\'t have enough fuel to get back. It\'s mainly designed to lift chunky stuff up there. Good luck finding somewhere to attach it though...
  12. Ok, I\'m going to break the golden rule of challenges here, but only because it\'s not yet actually possible. The Challenge: To use the upcoming persistance mechanic to place a space station of some sort in orbit. Then shoot it down. Rules: The station must be one object, and the whole station will probably be constructed out of parts from a pack. This will be decided on later. It may be a set downloadable design, or it may need to be constructed by you using a certain number of parts. This means it must be put up there in 1 flight. Once again, the packs allowed will need to be discussed. Once it\'s up there, the bad guys obviously have to shoot it down! Whether you use a missile or some sort of SRB cannon, is up to you. Awards for: - Cheapest cost of rocket to get the station into orbit. - Cheapest cost of rocket to shoot it down. - Fastest orbit and shoot down combined. - Doing it round the Mun instead. (MegaJebBonus anyone?) - Doing it all with no casualties. (Ignore the guys on the station.) Anything else to add? EDIT: The moment I posted this I thought of something else. With persistance and flights saved to file, it may be possible to share flight save files. So you can load other peoples\' flights in to your game. That would be brilliant, and if so I shall simply distribute the save with the station already up there and the challenge will revolve entirely around gunning it down. It will be interesting to see how it reacts with the log and similar; it may be possible to view whether it\'s all be destroyed or not.
  13. How on Kerbin has nobody mentioned [glow=red,2,300]DWAAAARF FOOOORTRESSSS[/glow] Do, that was meant to read [glow=red,2,300]DWAAAARF FOOOORTRESSSS[/glow]. Seems it can\'t handle a url AND glow. MOOOAAAR [glow=red,2,300]MAGMAAAA[/glow], Jeb would play Dwarf Fortress. EDIT2: Or... glow... at all... ?
  14. Bill: Captain, which direction are we actually going in...? Jeb: Boys... we\'re going DOWN. Bob: Are you sure it\'s not up? Down is very subjective in sp- Jeb: I SAID DOWN!
  15. Unfortunately I\'m not good with models or textures. I have a reasonable sense of balancing, and writing mildly amusing descriptions. PM me if I\'m needed.
  16. Am I the only person experiencing this: Sunday Punch medium orange tank is 1.75, therefore doesn\'t fit with any SP decoupler shrouds. Decoupler shrouds in general don\'t fit much or work. Always detaching.
  17. Nice to see it got done after I suggested it! I\'ll help with stuff if need be.
  18. Going to be doing some work on this tomorrow. Doing a bit of a test run now to see how feasible the current budgetting is. Don\'t want it to be too easy or too hard.
  19. Escape velocity? It\'s all down to your attention span.
  20. The Kerbal Space Program Have you got what it takes to be a Space Program Tycoon? (As a forenote, the Kerbal currency unit will be called a 'kerbit' from now on, this challenge is designed for stock KSP parts only, and the values are seriously made up. If it takes off, I\'ll do some real work to get a balanced challenge V2.) Tech Tree Stock Pod, LFT and LFE, Stack Decoupler, AV-T1 winglet and Chute researched by default. Researching the Radial Decoupler costs 2000 kerbits. Researching the Strut Connector costs 2000 kerbits. Researching the SRB costs 2500 kerbits. Researching stock SAS costs 3000 kerbits. Researching the TriCoupler costs 3000 kerbits. Researching the RCS thruster and tank costs 4000 kerbits. Researching AV-R8 winglet costs 4500 kerbits and requires ASAS. Researching ASAS costs 5000 kerbits and requires SAS. Researching LV-T45 costs 5000 kerbits and requires ASAS. Unoccupied flights can be flown once all SAS, ASAS, and other control technologies are researched. The ship must have an ASAS to fly unoccupied. Any flights with passengers require a live crewfor safety! Money All parts cost their values seen in the VAB per each part. Yes, you have to pay for the Pod too... You start with a government funding of 10000 kerbits. You gain money through completing objectives. At the end of a mission, the cost of all parts either a. attached to the landed ship or b. jetissoned with chutes set to open (and holding a sensible mass) are refunded IN FULL. Fuel tanks are now also worth full. The fuel cost is insignificant. This money is either poured back into your account, or used directly if you\'re launching the same ship again, for example. If your Kerbonaughts die, you\'ll need to train new ones, at a cost of 3000 kerbits each! (So 9000) Objectives/Missions Each successful government mission increases govermental funding by 5%. So after 1 success you get 10500, the next will give you 11025, etc. After any 'accident' mission, governmental funding drops by 10%. After any 'failed' mission, governmental funding drops by 25%. After any 'unsuccessful' mission, governmental funding drops by 5%. (The above happens even if it was a corp. mission. Disasters look bad!) Accidents are any mission where something goes significantly wrong; parts fall off, overheat, jettisoned boosters hit the VAB, etc. Failed missions are when the kerbonaughts die. Unsuccessful missions are ones which failed to meet the chosen/given objectives. (I\'ll have to rethink the mission types when I have access to KSP again, there\'s going to have to be a lot of crossover.) Government Targets - Can only be met once. Reach 40km. Leave Kerbin\'s atmosphere. Enter any orbit around Kerbin. Enter a highly circular (ap/per difference of 1km) orbit. Drop a satellite in the above orbit. (If successful, opens up corporate missions) Get into a highly circular orbit around the Mun. Drop a satellite in the above orbit. Land on the Mun! (Must have crew onboard) Corporate Missions - Can be done many times. Set up a geosynchronous weather satellite for KerbalStateTV. - TV satellite for KerBall Sports. - WIP I will also create a spreadsheet like template for uploading and comparing your program!
