I'm having the same problem. Just installed. KSP version 1.12.5.3190 (career mode), CKAN v1.34.4. Looked around to see if there are logs. MMPatch.log and ModuleManager.log don't show any actual errors about KEI, and the KEI log and Button Manager log are empty. I don't remember seeing any reference to a "light mode". I have tried removing it and reinstalling, with no change. EDIT: I should also add, I do have the dependencies installed...
