i find that if you cant make stock planes go for a small plane it will be over manuverable then you just scale your way up from there 3rd redesign from a small plane will be quite nice for example https://mega.co.nz/#!BIBUQDha!e9NEkWzrx5KCFktxOBOOqymWztsx9wybtFTpNAeWX8s craft file there if you wanna try it

If thats the plane im thinking of i made one similar to it just a diff cockpit and i got it to 20km and up to 900 m/s took me like 20 mins though had to ease her up this photo does have a mistake in it though that i fixed later i used the wrong part it had rocket fuel in it now this one is a bit different it doesnt use the radial intakes but if it did i think the ceiling would be around 17500m or a little under which would drop max speed down 500m/s

bit top heavy and kinda wobbley just a bit and it floats upside down in water so any boat theory needs a bit of adjustment but looks damn amazing -
well regardless the level of amazing work he has done here i doubt that it will just be forgotten by squad maybe not all the cockpits will be added or they may replace some of the existing cockpits but i think the pack it great if it gets added to ksp just means ill have to wait longer to see his awesome work edit: lets be honest here the stock shuttle cockpit without a proper nosecone looks retarded
