i've seen a few parts in ksp that have sections that inflate to produce a large living area for the kerbonaughts but my question is as stated above, is it real, have there been any such modules launched to space IRL ?

hey hooligan, just out of interest willl you be releasing the source ? if your not releasing it i would love to help develop it (if you so wish). i've had a bit of experience making parts for ksp and would love to help you develop new parts (including the floating runway/airship) if you want to just drop me a PM (hopefully you will!)

I've been playing around with the kethane mod a lot and i've always wondered what the biggest possible base you could physically get on the moon Rules : 1. No cfg edits 2. No cheaty mods (i.e orbital construction) ('Normal' mods allowed) 3. Must post screenshots of the rocket on the launchpad, in flight and landed on the moon 4. You must post the mods that you are using a craft file would also be desirable but not necessary Leaderboard : 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. LET THE BUILDING COMMENCE !

so i've been fiddling about with various different parts and designs in blender (none which turned out any good), and i think that i have finally come accross a model that i might actually release when its done, i would really appreciate any feedback about it and wondered if anyone had any ideas what colours i should texture it. Basically my idea for my part that is essentially part of a moon base, although there is still a ton of work to do i thought that i would show it to everyone and find out if anyone thought that it was a good idea for a part, i am also considering making the collision mesh in such a way that you can go inside it (essentially creating an interior) although im guessing that if i do it will take a lot longer to get it ready for release. http://imgur.com/4ZuSF

you really should look around the forums before you post something like this, there are many mods/plugins out there which already have the function of some of those features Features - Generation Ships (Long-distance starships operated by the fully awake crew members and their descendants) - not really much point since we only have the mun and minimus - Sleeper Ships (Long-distance starships where the crew is kept in cryogenic stasis) - not really much point since we only have the mun and minimus - Zero-gravity construction - Orbital Constuciton Mod - Advanced EVA exoskeletons - Orbital Elevators - this is impossible to mod, but perhaps maybe in a future update - Military Ships - you can fit guns and missiles to ships. - Satellite Lasers - been made, go search the forums - Munar Rovers - been made, go search the forums - Munbases - there are plenty of parts you can use to make your own - Asteroid Mining - try the kethane mod - Deep space travel - no planets to travel to yet - Rare alien artifacts that give access to advanced and unique parts - doubt it will ever happen - Solar Sails - most probably already created, if not you can use an ion engine - FTL Travel - whats the point, you might as well just use the insta orbit to get into different planets orbits - "Piggyback" takeoffs (Spaceplanes that lift off from the back of regular airplanes) - you can do this.....if your skilled enough Spacecraft/Space Station parts - Colony Module - made to some degree, go find it - Rec Module - made to some degree, go find it - Probe Launcher - several are avalible - Lab Module - made to some degree, go find it - Gym Module - would serve no purpose - Forge Module - would serve no purpose - Observatory - would serve no purpose - Satellite Launcher - same as probe launcher - Communications Array - already made, go find it - Tourist Module - would serve no purpose - Heat Shield - not implimented yet - Inflatable Landing Gear - already made, go find it - Laser - already made - Fuel Synthesizer (Slowly replenishes fuel) - already made, go find it - Arboretum - would serve no purpose Space Center: - Research and Development (Makes new tech) - future update...maybe - Training Center - would serve no purpose Easter Eggs: - UFOs - future update...maybe - Ghost Ships (Green, glowing transparent versions of ships that have crashed) - would serve no purpose - Alien ruins on planets - already made, go find it - Sometimes, if a Crewmember dies onboard a ship, a Bagpipe rendition of "Amazing Grace" will be heard - would serve no purpose go find stuff.

Hi, thanks for the help, i did find this tutorial but i am so used to following tutorials on youtube and narrate it, i can't seem to find one like that so i guess i'll have to follow the written version one thing i dont really understand tho, there are tutorials in which it says you have to import things into unity...so why would you do this if you could do it all in blender ?

hi there everyone, i've been playing this game for a while now and i really want to get into the modding side of things, i've made a basic model in blender and have attempted to import the file into ksp via unity but something keeps going wrong and when i try to open it in ksp the object is invisible, so before i bother to upload anything i was wondering if anyone knew of (or feel like creating) some good tutorials on all of the steps from exporting from blender to playing it in ksp. i have looked around but i can't really find anything that explains how to do it in any amount of detail. Please help as i really want to be part of the modding community!
