  1. Testing for v0.4 Started. Test release send to test pilots. If you signed up for testing but didn't receive the "testpack", PM me.
  2. Hmm, That shouldn't be possible. What parts are reported missing?
  3. Nearly there Parts are soon going to the test pilots to see if everything is ok, next release after that. I haven't replied to all testers yet who send me messages but all who signed up are going to get the test pack.
  4. Do you have a folder name with a space? If I remember right that was my problem.
  5. Slowly but steadily nearing the next release, today we went out with Siddrin Kerman to test out the ejection seat in the wilderness. He was pleased that the new suit cut down mosquito bites about 73% but complained that breathing was little hard and that flight mask smelled funky. He also disliked the texture of the suit and requested that we would add a pink color option. The new release will come after we have made some modifications.
  6. Yes, I'm sorry about that. It is problem with the game and me trying to do something too tricky for the game at its current state. I originally made the adapter for my self, its possible to attach it by surface snapping but it takes steady hand and some patience. The problem is that the SU fuselage needs to be attached in 5 degree angle, its not possible unless you first grab the ejection seat when adapter is attached to it and rotate it 5 degrees using sift+wasd. The SU adapter will be this way until its possible to have attachement nodes in 5 degree angle, currently 90 and 45 are supported. This is issue in the mod but cannot be helped at the moment, I have tried few things to fix it but no luck yet. The other adapters that I'm working on are attached straight and won't have this problem. There's detailed instructions for the SU adapter in the first post. Until I or somebody else finds the solution it will be this way
  7. You can check the progress in my *new* blog, the link is in my signature. Not much there at the moment, I'll update it when I got more stuff to show. The thread isn't dying, just working on biggest update so far. After next update adding new parts should be easier. At the moment making sure editable skins work as they should and the textures line up. I solved the problem with the control surfaces and in next version they will work. I'm also confident I know now how to make engines work too. All the parts so far are getting visual update and the cockpit will have interior, seat a proper texture, kerbal and EVA. Landing gear mod should be ready soon after the update. Thanks for your patience EDIT: Oh, yeah, not to forget the upcoming new cockpit option and fuselage set.. The MI-series, more rugged than SU-fuselage series, heavier, but more durable and more fuel.. not as nimble as SU-series but good for high altitude flights and long journeys.. The large fuselage series (shh still secret) won't probably make it to the next update.. but it has a "dummy" cockpit option containing no kerbals if you wan't to attach a smaller craft on its back and launch it from the air.
  8. I have 10+ parts that use the same texture, is it possible use 1 texture only, for example to have "Mytextures" folder in "parts" folder and make it so that my parts use textures from there?
  9. Yes I don't expect to make living of modding, but few hours free time per month would be great achievement. Maybe Microsoft isn't a good example, but how about garry's mod?
  10. I'm bit occupied at the moment but next update ETA +/- one week hopefully..
  11. Yep! it's next on the list once I have some freetime..
  12. Well said and good example! I think these are really good questions every game developer has to ask from themselves. I wonder if there has been any research done in to how mods influence games success or how much money there is involved in modding nowadays.
  13. I think that's a bit grey area but I suspect that it's not allowed. As sal_vager pointed out: Section 8: Miscellaneous Issues A user shall not: At any time advertise an off forum feature, service, or society- incentive does not matter.
  14. Good points and good discussion! I don't approve selling mods either, unless they are total overhaul mods and developers and modder's can come to an agreement how the profits are divided. Mods should be free and easy to find and download. If one would seek to "profit" from mods, probably directing traffic to one's own site would be the best option. This is grey area since the rules forbid advertising, so giving a link to your own site where there would be donation button or adds is questionable. I suspect that the money you could make this way is next to zero anyway. I have studied game development and I sometimes feel that some (not Squad afaik) developers can be a little overprotective of their games. To me it seems that there are games today that are bought in great quantities just to play certain mods. In my opinion these mods just advertise and sell games. For these reasons I don't understand developers that don't support their modding communities. In my school there was saying that "modding for games is like shoveling money to developers pockets". While this is true the amount of money you are shoveling isn't that big unless your mod is something like Dayz. Modding also benefits you because it develops the skills you use to create the mods. I suspect that in future there will be a competition of modders between game companies. When companies start to reward to best of the best modders, that is going to attract more modders to the game.
  15. I have been modding for KSP a little while now and having a blast. So much in fact it's eaten all my free time.. I work as a freelancer doing simple 3d related work, although I love 3d modelling, modding for KSP is much more rewarding and fun. I wish I had more time to spend on modding KSP or other games I love. Making money trough modding is next to impossible. Nevertheless I would like to hear your opinions about modder's who ask for donations or include adds in their posts. As far as I know is not allowed at KSP forums, and I'm interested if any game, or game forums allow this. I'm also interested in you opinions about anything related to monetizing mods.
  16. Thanks! I'm just getting started, started modding about 16 days ago.. Dunno, its been there since I bought the game, 0.15 was it then.. you cannot spawn on it I just taxied the plane there for fun
  17. Sorry, totally forgot about that! :S dropbox link added.
  18. Hi all, decided to try this for the first time and hope you like it. I just got my GOV(gears of vvaris) landing gear mod somewhat working and would like to put it to a good use. The challenge is to make a shortest landing using GOV_piccolo and/or GOV_piccolo S landing gears. RULES: 1. You must take off from runway 2. Turn around 3. Land in opposite direction 4. All parts must land with the plane 5. The distance is measured from the start (or end since you are landing in opposite direction as you take off) of the runway. 6. Use only ONE atmospheric engine 7. No parachutes 8. Must land manually. No ASAS or any other "cheating" 9. Landing gear must be placed 90 degrees to engine, With this I mean the normal airplane configuration. You can find the landing gear mod here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/17081-Redstar-co-op-Airplane-parts You need also Tosh cart plugin for the landing gear to work.
  19. Gears of vvaris alpha v0.1 released. Custom landing gears with suspension and steering! Requires/Made possible: Tosh cart plugin. Gears of vvaris Video added.
  20. Is there dokumentation somewhere about those? I can update the seat, I would need to model kerbal first, or maybe just add a cube as a place holder if you wan't to try it:P
  21. Testing the EES (easy editable skins), these two different skins are result of just slapping a colour + tileable camo pattern and for the other slapping two colours and drawing a staight line. Now it doesn't give you too much control but you can change colours of you favourite plane. Only grief is that the texture has to be converted using part tools at the moment. EES will be available in the next update. EDIT: little bigger picture https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2988574/skins.png
  22. Thanks! Good you like it. Not sure about the seat, I'm just modeller/animator so finding out stuff like that is bit difficult for me..
  23. Gears of vvaris Mod announcement added. Testers needed added.
  24. Don't thank me, thank TOSH! He has made this possible, I just slap models in place and write few lines to .cfg
