  1. I guess what you could do is just make an engine that would use up a small fuel tank instantly, but it yields a very large amount of thrust. It would simulate a blast pretty well. Some nuclear weapons are small enough for a human to carry (less than 50kg), and they put out a bit over 20 tons of TNT.
  2. What kind of views did the guys have in the real LM? EDIT: Checked myself... WOW.
  3. This concept simply will not work. Due to the unrealistic rate at which the solid rocket boosters lose fuel in KSP, you will likely be unable to make a craft in this design. If you would like to make a reusable craft, may I suggest making a mock Crewed Atlas V rocket? I have one, and it performs flawlessly from launch to full stop on the runway after many orbits. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/Dream_Chaser_Atlas_V_Integrated_Launch_Configuration.jpg
  4. Yep; looks exactly like it zoomed in. /thread
  5. If it was something from his GPU, it would not likely appear in a screenshot. Also, as you can see in my earlier post, it appears to have the shape of a star.
  6. I don't think so. There is no star in that location of the skybox. EDIT: It also seems as if it takes up more than one pixel. If you zoom in, you can see some variation in the object. It has kind of a + shape to it, which makes it look like it's a star. Is this how the devs are telling us that they are working on a new star system/interstellar travel? http://i.imgur.com/v01YN.png
  7. Well, apparently, it's not Minmus. From that location, Minmus does not hit that point in space. It's orbit is on a completely different inclination. (And yes, I'm having some problems with my space shuttle ) http://i.imgur.com/wehUq.png
  8. I read it, but he also stated that there was no persistent debris. It is either debris or Minmus. Or something is in the game that we don't know about and you devs are smiling at us trying to figure out what it is.
  9. Here is me approaching the Kerbin system after a Kerbol orbit, and Minmus can be seen in the middle of a triangle of 3 stars seen on the middle-left of the screen. Although you say it isn't Minmus, it definitely looks like Minmus. EDIT: Actually, now looking at my picture, it seems that the stars that are in my screenshot are the same ones as yours. Where you see the white dot should be above and to the right of the brightest star of my screenshot. http://i.imgur.com/LxiLt.png

    Leave of Absence

As an admin on one forum and a moderator on another, I know how it feels when you're not giving all the time you should be to one or the other. You have greatly assisted in the improvement of the forums, so thank you.
  11. Wow; thank you for all the responses. Never really thought about the endless errors that would likely occur in such a system.
  12. Why don't they just make it so other bodies just counter the acceleration with another formula?
  13. From what I can gather, the reason the spacecraft is unaffected by multiple bodies' gravity is due to a limit of the game engine. I'm just curious why an orbit can't just be simulated by the programmer (if within x distance of body, make the spacecraft turn in y direction, etc (I think there are formulas to calculate this)) rather than recognized as a body by the engine.
  14. Forgive me if this question has already been addressed, but will Kerbol/The Sun get a body/surface in .17?
  15. The Delta IV Heavy I really like the design of the Delta IV Heavy, so I decided to make one in KSP. It has no problems getting to a Kerbosynchronous orbit. I have also used it to get to Minmus and the Mün. I have a slideshow of me getting to a Kerbosynchronous orbit with it here: http://imgur.com/a/WvLB3. One thing I really like about it is that once you're at a Kerbosynchronous apoapsis, you can do a quick retrograde burn, and jettison the satellite. You can then use the satellite's H and N RCS to get back into a Kerbosynchronous orbit. This will help prevent debris cluttering Kerbin. EDIT: Wow, just used it to get to the Mün, then to Minmus, then back to Kerbin. Never had a ship that could do that before. Name: Delta IV Heavy Creator: Brad Mods Required: MechJeb (unless you change the pod in the .craft file) Screenshots/videos: http://imgur.com/a/WvLB3 Download Link: http://www./?7hochcc2548lw8i I can upload a .craft of the rocket without a MechJeb pod. Just tell me what you'd like, and I'll get to it as soon as I can.
