Science vs religion is a delusional conflict. Scientific method won't ever give us answers for such important questions like: what are the values? which way of doing things is ethical? are there limits to our cognition? if yes, then why? why the Universe can be explained mathematically? why there are laws of nature and why in this particular version? how to live a decent life? what does it mean to be happy? And so on, and so on. There are reasons why philosophy and spirituality exists. There is also a big difference between faith and organized religion, let's not forget about that. Now, having said that - I'm not religious, if I have to describe myself I would say that I'm an agnostic (though I was baptized as a catholic when I was a child).

Is deleting the parts required as well or can I just paste the new plugin and plugin_data into the game folder? -
Bored 3D Modeler looking for a challenge..

No problem. I will be happy as long as it will be something like the VASIMR, that is high Isp and thrust few times bigger the in ion engines -
And this was a war substitute with the Soviets - the whole space program was a propagand which political system is the superior one.

Kudos to you sir - this is great. I love the "Sunshine", though I'm afraid my PC will implode while trying to fly this beauty. -

Yay, we will have VASIMR! Thanks! I vote for Xenon, there is no need to add more resources when the Xe can be used in this type of engine -

This is a modfied version of Munox from FusTek: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24826-FusTek-Parts-Munox-Karmony-Modules-Station-Parts-Docking-Nodes-19-X I asked fusty if he can create a special version just for this AAR and he agreed, for which I'm very grateful His parts are great, I love them and I'm always using them outside the Kerbin SOI: you can download Common Berthing Mechanisms here http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/common-berthing-mechanisms-2-5m-docking-ports-2/ and the Station Parts here http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/fustys-station-nodes-new-karmony-node-2-5m-crewtank/ -
[AAR] The Grand Tour - Voyage To The Planets
czokletmuss replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP Fan Works
Well, last few days were very busy for me, but after work today I'm going to finish the next chapter so you can expect it very soon. And yes, due to problems with forum I spent more time on playng then reading on writing about it I don't won't to spoil the surprises, but I can say that currently 40-45% of the mission is completed. I enjoy writing it so you can be sure that there will be more chapters coming. I don't know how many of the will be there in the end but I guess that probably twice as much as in "Kadmos" story or something like this. So 40 or so chapters, we're still on the very beginning -

I'm really happy to hear that -
[WIP] THSS - Tri-Hexagonal Structural Strut
czokletmuss replied to Semni's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
These are vey cool parts. Are they maybe any plans to make a bigger version for them for a longer journey? I'm talking about something like this: Big tanks within the struts - what do you think? -
International construction ISS in Kerbal orbit.

The ORDA always perform autodock with 100% precision, so if everything else fails one can just use this mod. -

Never. Ask. For. A release date. -
I like it And damn, you reminded me that I have to finally learn how to use planes, I always crush them more or less 3 minutes into the flight

I'm waiting for a KSP Imperial Shuttle

I like this quote from Tsiolkovsky but I would argue whether this is our duty. Who says who? Who can enforce it? Who wants it anyways? In a universe with hundreds of bilions of galaxies we're hardly the only intelligent specie. Space exploration is a noble goal but I wouldn't say that this is a duty in any way.
-
Err, doesn't the ISS has quite a lot solar panels without any farm (surface, soil, ground)? And we can observe things from telescopes on orbit or in L-points, why land them?
-
Certainly not if we speak about helium-3. And it would be easier to mine asteroids, they have greater concentration of metals and much smaller gravity well.

[AAR] The Grand Tour - Voyage To The Planets
czokletmuss replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP Fan Works
I'm happy to hear that I myself was inspired by this thread http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/31371-All-four-moons-landing-return/ but it seems it was lost in the Great April Purge. I wish you luck, writing about KSP is even more fun than playing the game itself -
[AAR] The Grand Tour - Voyage To The Planets
czokletmuss replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP Fan Works
I will be at work till past midnight, so I'll post some updates tomorrow. And expect the (raw) version of the whole "Kadmos" story from "Jool of Kerbol system" to be put here once again soon. In the meantime you can take a look at this slightly outdated delta-v plan and goals list: -
I enjoy this thread, please do not force the mods to close it

VASIMR is an electormagnetic, not electrostatic (like ions are) engine but I agree - something between the ion engine and the LV-N woud be cool -
This. There is a strange tendency, especially in the USA, to compare the space exploration to the "Mayflower" or Colombus expedition. It MAY be accurate but only if the founding fathers were trying to settle on radioactive Antarctica. Still, in the long term I think that staying on a just one planet would be irrational, especially taking into consideration finite resources and a vast number of potential hazards which could end the happy adventures of a homo sapiens. I support the free market wholeheartedly but supply or demand won't change the physics. It takes 9-10 km/s delta-V to the LEO only. No matter how good car you have, riding from Alaska to Argentina will always be expensive.

Nope. Buy some Coca-Cola in a can (seriously, there is a good comparison between coke and rocket fuel tanks in the text) and read this: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/expeditions/expedition30/tryanny.html Leaving the Earth's gravity well won't be as cheap as flight from Europe to USA in the forseeable future.

[AAR] The Grand Tour - Voyage To The Planets
czokletmuss replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP Fan Works
Relax, "Proteus" is still in the Kerbin's SOI doing tests. Where's the drama when you can be back on a ground in 24 hours? In the deep space however... And remember, this is the mission's plan: Moho: ... Eve: ... Gilly: ... Mun: DONE Minmus: DONE Dres: ... Duna: ... Ike: ... Laythe: ... Tylo: ... Vall: ... Bop: ... Pol: ... Eeloo: ... It's just a beginning
