Missed the streaming since I was busy. Very nice for winning though. ;D
I have voted for this game on all categories it was eligible in @ Unity3D. Been a long while since I played Cities: Skylines, which itself isn't a bad game.

Makes me want to somehow setup an experiment like that on KSP.
And yes, I played it earlier.

I use a 250GB BX100 Crucial (used to use a Intel SSD 330 Series 240GB, though it turns out there wasn't a problem with the SSD) and a 2TB Seagate Mechanical Hard Drive. Either Windows is acting very finicky with SSDs or something since it has a real bad tendency to freeze with 100% Disk Usage (with no real activity whatsoever).
I use SSD for OS for faster load times while I use a good old HDs for massive storage. Especially now I've been backing up old games and even some movies.

I used to have a TI-86 Graphing Calculator years ago (though slow, did pack a lot of memory back then). Shame it disappeared. :|
I was learning some Z80 Zilog assembly too at that time...

I haven't experimented with extremely hard settings in 1.0.x, but I can say that is no doubt more feasible than in 0.90. One can reach the Mun without any patched conics (look at all the players who played versions before patched conics were even implemented). Heck, this was also before maneuver nodes were added.
While patched conics and maneuver nodes are handy for interplanetary travel as well as getting to Minimus (as it can be easier to miss), don't be overly dependent on it when you don't have access to it at the beginning. Perhaps there should be a way to turn off all those features for Sandbox to enable training?

Lol at a suborbital flight to the Sun!

Playing around with that tutorial, I find it interesting that if you plan to rescue the stranded Kerbals they're likely to die anyhow if you ever decouple. :|

I predict that Kerbal Space Program will win several indie game awards when such a time comes since it is now officially released. Now, this is just a prediction that could be wrong. In fact, it is so awesome it may even get Indie Game of the Year. Those are my predictions.
Feel free to predict in this thread or make a comment.

I thought it seemed strange that when I unleashed a rocket with just the RT-5, it was significantly weaker (or nerfed).

I nearly succeeded in bringing in a Science Jr. along with the Service Bay (containing a mystery goo container) a few days ago until it fell victim to the pod flipping bug, killing Jeb. This was from a Mun flyby that went well, but exploded due to the flipping bug in 1.0.0. I haven't tried doing that again yet in 1.0.1, but I'm planning to.

If you load a Career save that was created before the 1.0.1 hotfix, you will need to purchase the Basic Fin on the Research Tree (though for no charge). Any save created on 1.0.1 or after will be purchased automatically. This thread is intended for those who are curious why they needed to purchase the Basic Fin.
Originally, I thought it was bug until I later realized it was just a save created on 1.0.0.

It appears that the latest version's patcher download only results in a broken zip file now (before, it downloaded a patcher that gets hung). For anyone having trouble with the patcher and have any KSP Store copy (or possibly GOG copy), download the new version by hand.
I have a feeling it'll be a while before we get a working patcher again.

Kerbal Space Program was great before the Early Access Program even existed on Steam. While I'm usually distrustful of anything that charges for early access any of sort; this game already had a demo out and later purchased it. Got a good investment out of it, especially with many playable test versions.
One could say Kerbal Space Program was one of the very few of the Early Access Program to succeed without shutting down (as many others have a way of shutting down or totally abandoning their projects). I salute Squad for perseverance on this project without ever giving up.

Purchased on June 17th, 2012 during the 0.15.2 era. First played it around February 25th/26th, 2012. Coincidentally, the purchase date happened to be on my 24th birthday.

I can say one thing that upon release, it is far more stable than when The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion came out. While that game was fun, I remember the first release having so many bugs that it in fact broke portions of the game. This wasn't from any indie company either.
And while The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall was a great game; there were still bugs that were never fixed even towards the end.

From my experience with 1.0 so far, I have not encountered any game-breaking bug. I'll let y'all know if I do.

I have a APL (All Purpose Lander) I made don't know if it counts but It uses the pre- 1.0 landing gear but is able to do a Vertical lading and takeoff or just land as a plane and take off as one. The reason being it can land with or with out an atmosphere, land or water, even go from land to water or vise versa. Perfectly balanced and can be refueled while landed in water or land. Have yet to test it in 1.0 news to come. Yep with a little tweaking still works.
Feel free to test it out. I remember encountering some interesting VTOL designs pre-1.0. Heck, I even remember experimenting with it before new aerodynamics were implemented.
Question: Can we have a detachable command pod to land on the mun and come back up to dock or is this cheating? Also, can we have drop tanks?I was going to say you wouldn't be able to meet some milestones, but I think your question has led to an interesting idea. That would be great for VTOL designs where you can come back and re-acquire command pods. That would make for an interesting milestone.
Edit: I have now added it as a potential milestone.

For now don't use the launcher. Go to the KSP folder and run the KSP application
Yep, I have found the main executable to work. Just avoid the launcher or patcher until it is fixed.

Nice to see you again Skunky.
Great timing to show up for the 1.0 release.

Judging by the patcher, it is either very busy or it is hung when trying to get the login token. Might have something to do with server migration, though I could be wrong.

Kerbal Space Program: We have liftoff.
It appears your title has actually been used for a screenshot. While not the name of the release, it has nonetheless been used.
And now that the game has been released, this thread can now be closed.

Due to the new aerodynamics having been implemented to Kerbal Space Program, I have decided to open up a Milestones challenge. This is a community-endorsed challenge meaning anyone of y'all posting can contribute any additional milestones related to the development of VTOL (Vertical to Lift) spacecraft.
Conditions:
- You must develop a VTOL Spaceplane to achieve it.
- You are only allowed to use landing legs. (No plane-based landing gears. I may change this one at anytime if it feels too difficult). Landing legs are not required, but they can help with the landing procedure.
- You are allowed to use a fueling depot. (This can be very helpful when traveling around Kerbol.)
- It must be piloted. (No probe cores unless you are delivering a satellite as a payload.)
- SAS/Reaction Wheels is permitted to treat it like some form of autopilot.
- Use stock parts only. (Reason for this condition is to see how capable anyone is without relying on any modded parts).
- You must either take screenshots of each of the milestones or record videos. (Videos are normally best, but screenshots are acceptable due to the fact there are those who poor internet connections still.)
Current Milestones:
- Achieve Low Kerbin Orbit and Return to Kerbal Space Center
- Achieve Successful Mun Landing and Return to Mun Orbit
- Achieve Successful Minimus Landing and Return to Minimus Orbit
- Return to Kerbin (Land at the Kerbal Space Center) after travelling to and landing on all of Kerbin's Moons in one flight
- Achieve Duna Orbit and Successfully Land on Duna, then Return to Duna Orbit
- Return to Kerbin (Land at the Kerbal Space Center) after successfully landing on Duna
- Pick up Command Pods (similar to like a Drop Pod design) with a VTOL Spaceplane from any planet/moon and return to orbit (Inspired by sbski's question that I have replied to.)
This list can be expanded and I will list those who successfully achieved any of the milestones.
The reason for posting this challenge is to see how many can achieve the goal of a successfully constructed VTOL Spaceplane under the new aerodynamics. Imagine trying this challenge on FAR (which probably has already been done).
Admittedly, I probably won't be able to achieve all the milestones myself. However, it would be a great way to see how everyone is capable in developing VTOL Spaceplanes. This thread is more like a R&D type to encourage innovation.

Polling is now finally closed. The 'No' choice has been declared the winner.

Yeah, bugs have a way of coming upon release no matter what. Heck, some bugs are so elusive that they are missed till someone finds out about it later.
What I hate about KSP forums/IRC! (not a moan, don;t worry!)

I'm currently 27 myself, but I've been using computers since I was about 3 or 4 years old. I actually remember our Amigas (he actually owned both an Amiga 500 and 2000), which had great graphics and audio for their time. During the 80s (my father is now currently 50 since a few months ago), he also owned a Commodore 64 (this was before I was even born).
Of course, the Amiga (which might've been the Amiga 2000) was the first system I have ever used. We didn't have an IBM PC Compatible of our own till 1995. I do remember him having a laptop, however. This was back when they were incredibly bulky (not referring to the very first laptops, but the ones in the early to mid 90s). This was also my first time seeing him playing Doom 2 (possibly Doom). That dates back to either early 1995 or late 1994.
I remember the days when early internet usage of the World Wide Web where many who used it at the time had dial-up (including us). Back then, it was acceptable and websites could even be visited on dial-up. Netscape Navigator was once the dominating internet browser (as I seem to recall the first versions of Internet Explorer having a relatively ugly interface and not necessarily user friendly). Of course, I didn't use that browser, but I do remember my father using it for a bit. Wasn't till 3.0 when Internet Explorer was catching up and 4.0 changing just about everything. Of course, it stagnated once 6.0 came about. We're basically in a second or even third era of internet browsers right now.
As for IRC, I actually remember my father using it back in the late 90s. His favorite client for the time was mIRC (which is still around). Thinking about IRC, who remembers ICQ? I never used it, but my father certainly did when it first came out. Apparently, it was one of the very first instant messengers in existence.
As for computers I have used myself in the past, I have used various models of Apples and Macs due to schools using them. Of course, some schools used IBM-Compatible PCs (which ran under Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.1.1 for Workgroups). Heck, I have a way of enjoying nostalgia even from the 80s (considering my father happened to be one of the computer users of that era). And by the way, I introduced my father into Kerbal Space Program a few years ago.
I could keep going, but it would make for a tediously long post.
