Hello : ) I would like to join in. I wouldn\'t want to request a turn right away though, but rather have it in a more RP-ish and community-oriented way. So: I am a head of a private cargo company, specializing in cheap and reliable munar deliveries. All my craft is unmanned, I remote-control using my own network of 3 kerbostationary sats and 3 munar sats with all-around coverage (Should I get into this and if you accept the sat network mod in the list, I will set up the same system in your persistent). I currently have the following standard loads available for delivery to your munbase: 1. Energy storage module - core module of the munbase power plant. 2. Cuttlefish lander - solar panel part of the power plant. A storage module and 6 landers make a complete power plant. 3. 'Armed Rovver' - a truck equipped with a manipulator arm for moving stuff around. New payloads are being perfected now and will be available soon. Please excuse the lack of pictures, will add some tomorrow. For now, here is a photo from the prototype test : ) Yes I did haul one of the landers from a few kilometers away. So, what I am expecting here, is for you people to place orders here in the thread, I\'ll confirm and request a turn when I have tuned the launch. 1-2 days max : ) What say you?

Flight with the cuttlefish& bigtrack
BlackBicycle replied to shhhilent1's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I generally find the Cuttlefish cargo delivery system good. It is unwieldy on launch and requires extra efforts for stability. It cannot reliably house vehicles with long manipulator arms or even slightly unbalanced weight without etxra RSC . Yet it contains enough fuel to finalize the orbit (so leaves no spent stages in low orbit), burn to Mun and land there. And, of course, aside from this, I am very grateful to the author of the thing itself, regardless of how it handles. If it handled perfectly, btw, I wouldn\'t use it : ) Currently I am setting up a munar power plant, for the needs of a future base. The module in the middle (far) is the main battery, delivered separately. I plan to land another 2-4 Cuttlefishes around the main battery. In a more advanced version, they\'d be connected to it with cables. The loads will be modules for the base - I am learning how to move stuff around. In fact, one of the cuttlefishes I had to cart to the place from over 6 km. It slipped out of the claw only twice : ) My average speed with the truck you see here and the fish was about 10 m/s. -
Here is what I used last night. The truck had a little problem extricating itself, but it all ended well, thanks to the arm (goes up in this picture, is 2 cylinders and 4 hinges long). Next time I am hanging it under the rack I think. P.S. The tanks decouple after landing, the whole frame drops down a bit more.

Whats the limit of polygons and texture size?
BlackBicycle replied to Dani-Sang's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
All I can say is that the stock rocket, no matter how huge, has a negligible impact on my FPS. When I add like 10 trusses from Robotics, the thing becomes unplayable. In general, I find most mods to be suffering from 'I got an uber gaming computer lol' syndrome : ( -
Welcome aboard : )

I am all for the micro-drag. We can always compose a sat which would have the means for correcting an orbit. What I started doing recently though, is include deorbiting solid motors for my stages, 2 angled so the whole thing rotates and stabilizes, and another 2 straight back, to aid in braking. If the periapsis is lower than the surface, when switched out of the debris in question, it disappears at an altitude of about 4km.
-
I would also like to add, and do correct me if I\'m wrong, but unless you are switched to the debris that are going through the atmosphere at the moment they do so, the debris would just go on with the orbit, as if no air was there. So, in my case where I leave a spent stage on a low orbit that intersects atmosphere, I have to switch to that stage for some 10 minutes after the mission is complete (or when I have a spare window within the mission), just to watch (and make) it slow down in the atmosphere and fall to the surface.

Efficient atmospheric throttling
BlackBicycle replied to Knyght's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Think you mean Engineering, http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=9917.0 It doesn\'t show drag though. -
Edited - since the picture no longer links. A cake for you all! I mean... good you are here. Without you, this place would turn into a chaotic mess. Yes. Of course it would. That\'s why you are here... right?

Efficient atmospheric throttling
BlackBicycle replied to Knyght's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you include MechJeb in your design, it shows you (in the accent autopilot stats) your delta speed distribution - how much was lost atm to drag, how much to gravity etc. This is not the solution, but it is a part of it, I believe : ) -
I am not in this game (not yet : ), but I\'d point out that, per the decision of the modmaker, the large tanks and main module are being phased out for the next version, the older models are here only to keep continuity with older .craft designs. I suppose only the new (very flat) main module and only side tanks should be used.

Thank you very much! : D -
If you don\'t want to use MechJeb, your choice. However, I\'d like to reiterate a point ion my post, that states: watch MechJeb do it a couple of times, then you can do it manually. Or is it not me who is confused, but yourself? Did you already figure out your way of conquering space? There is a number, you know. Build a monster that can do anything. Build a medium which can do most of the stuff. Build a sufficient design, precisely tuned to the payloads you have in mind AND one that doesn\'t leave burned-out stages in low orbit? Which ones appeals more to you? Just go ahead.
-
Exactly what I mean, and also, yes I would be retexturing stuff if all of a sudden my resolution dropped 2.5 times Or should it rather be 2.54? I hate this ratio, it creeps up every time I think all is fine and metric. Damn you, inches. It\'s not long till you are all forgotten, I trust. I hope Fahrenheit dies with you too.

Mechanical Mouse Industries Development Thread.
BlackBicycle replied to Dani-Sang's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
This is nice : ) Man, I know you are doing your best already, but PLEASE do keep the poly count down! I mean, another 'nice looking strut' like the Robotics, and I will stop using the damn game altogether. You know what I mean... -
http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14824.0 Those are called Keostationary, actually : )
