  1. I have heard them mention ideas about that, like so many other cool ideas. But to me having that sort of ai, able to perform basic tasks and get into troubling situations that would require your intervention to save them. That is the most important thing they could add to the game after the current update, it would add to the game much than multiplayer ever would. Although i have no idea how feasible adding something like that to the game is, i would like to see them have at fair crack at trying it, even if they only got some basic eva ai for the kerbals working.
  2. I feel this games needs some form of ai for the kerbals, so they can act independently in and out of your focus. That is what would give this game some good long term fun, because right now nothing happens with out your direct involvement and that is not what good management games do, you situations out of your control to react to and overcome.
  3. Trying to do axial wobble would be going a step to far, the amount of dev effort to interesting gameplay challenge is just not there. Plus the time scales that it works on is very long, for earth our axial precession wobble is about 26,000 years or something around that number. So even with things happening faster in the ksp solar system because of the scale it would take ages and have no noticeable impact.
  4. I believe a set up like this would be better for both new players and the more experienced, as it presents simple yet varied challenges they can overcome. i.e. Launching the same as always or for the first time and going equatorial, means Minus is probably the best option unless you want to do a plane change and go to the Mun. This would make learning the games mechanics easier for new players, because having to do things like a plane change or launching off the equator to reach another body would not take and interplanetary flight. The quicker you can make and learn from a mistake the better. It's also better for older players because it adds more realism and fun challenge to the existing system.
  5. While i do like game play mechanics that are analogous to real life, the build up of chemicals in the atmosphere from repeated rocket launches goes a bit to far in this case. Penalties for atmospheric explosions or crashing of nuclear rockets might make an interesting mechanic though.
  6. After reading through the last 17 pages of this thread i am now in favour of having a form of construction cost paid in game time, in stock career mode. One reason is how to get into failure states in career mode especially if difficulty levels are included i.e. through miss management of time, resources and direction you have dug your space program into a hole it can't get out of. Now the way i see it being beneficial is; making management of your budget and contracts a proper challenge rather than something that is nice but ultimately an afterthought, now i say this because without having time properly valued in any game with even the slightest management aspect makes that aspect feel bland and somewhat of a chore, think AC3 and running the manor. Now i know not all people want that sort of challenge but still want the feeling of running such a big thing as a space program so in that area you can only satisfy one group or make some form of difficulty levels but that's a whole different topic.
  7. I guess if others are adding anecdotal evidence to this thread, so shall i. Outside of this forum i have never seen anyone bring up the gender of Kerbals, they have just played the game and enjoyed it. Even for myself, the only time that i thought about the Kerbals gender was when i saw it on this forum. But i guess it makes sense that some want female Kerbals, people will humanize pretty much anything with a face.
  8. It's an odd site, but clearly it's some form of joke as you can't actually buy those parts and the prices are in the 100's of thousands.
  9. I guess Kasuha is going to very surprised when KSP reaches v1.0
  10. Like many visual/sound effects, they are still just place holders until they get towards the end of development on the game.
  11. Why is this a thing that people worry about and then feel the need to tell others of that worry?
  12. Beta?, are you some sort of time traveling wizard? I'm still stuck with .21.1 Alpha lol. But being serious now, bugs come with the alpha/beta periods and expecting all of them to be fixed ASAP like a full release game just ain't going to happen, I would recommend taking a break from ksp and skip a few updates then jump back in.
  13. I thought Kerbals were supposed to be a sexless species that are closer to plants than mammals. Then we get to dress them how ever we want in the kerbalizer.
  14. Seems like a bit of a stretch to go from 'i accidentally opened multiple copies of KSP.exe' to 'therefore don't allow multiple copies to be ever opened'
  15. Cool, that was driving me crazy for ages when all my planes just nosed down and i didn't know why. Now i can start building my fighter bomber.
  16. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just how the engine works, but the FS1PE propeller engines centre of thrust is no centred on the engine but about 2/3rd's a propeller length above. It's only that part, no other prop or jet engines do this.

  18. The only way i can see a multiplayer system that works, is if one person acting as mission control is in charge of time warp and the rest are player controlled kerbals that get sent on missions. Time warp would then only work when everyone is either in a stationary and/or non accelerating vessel. So when you want to warp to a maneuver node or planet intercept, everyone hops in their vessel and the mission controller then locks out individual vessel control and starts the time warps.
  19. Reviewing an alpha is a bad idea, especially on metacritic.
  20. I think racist is the wrong choice of words.
  21. Clearly you read into things to much.
  22. Because why not, there doesn't have to be a reason for it and plenty of people do game improvement mods already, so you would just end up with lots of cross over.
  23. They are mk2 pieces attached to standard fuel tanks but the mk2 pieces are rotated 90 degrees using the q key.
