[1.2] VOID 1.1.0-beta - Vessel Orbital Informational Display
Iannic-ann-od replied to toadicus's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Great plugin! Used it since the beginning but it has been a while. Noticed today that surface velocity and true altitude aren't displaying as they used to. Example: http://i.imgur.com/cGIZba5.jpg Is this a bug or did I miss some configuring?- 577 replies

New Chatterer thread by Athlonic is up HERE!
-
Here's the source code: https://github.com/pizzaoverhead/Chatterer/blob/master/Chatterer/Chatterer.cs On line 3365 starts the load_icons() function that loads the icon textures and sets their positions. Line 3382 starts the placement of the icon: if (ui_icons_loaded) { ui_icon_pos = new Rect((Screen.width / 2) - 285f, Screen.height - 32f, 30f, 30f); if (chatter_freq == 0) ui_icon = ui_icon_off; else ui_icon = ui_icon_on; if (debugging) Debug.Log("[CHATR] icon textures loaded"); } else { ui_icon_pos = new Rect((Screen.width / 2) - 320f, Screen.height - 22f, 70f, 20f); }

Just added a link to this post and Chatterer's github to the OP. Better late than never, right?
-
Sweet! +2 internets for you. Also, some other news regarding the future of Chatterer: Pizzaoverhead, creator of some excellent sound plugins and manager(?) of the Kerbal Sound Overhaul Project, has agreed to adopt Chatterer and has uploaded the code to GitHub. I encourage Athlonic and anyone else interested in contributing fixes or new features to please do so there. Huge thanks to pizzaoverhead, toadicus, and Athlonic for working hard to keep the gibberish going!
-
Kind of sort of. I've moved on to other games and making mods for them. I've asked a few other plugin creators if they would like to take over Chatterer but so far haven't gotten any firm commitments. Still waiting to hear back from a couple as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone will pick it up and run with it. Just sent a message to pizzaoverhead a few minutes ago asking if he would like to take over/merge it/whatever.

Gave it another try with your suggestions, but still getting them all curved The strange thing is I can go to youtube and play some random SSTV and they decode just fine It's making me crazy.
-
-
Why do you all keep rubbing the broken SSTV in my face? If you can figure out how to decode them, you can probably figure out how to encode them also, so help us all out and make some new ones that decode nicely, eh? Someone? Anyone? edit: I will try to get an update together in the very near future for RemoteTech2 compatibility.
-
As others have said, you can edit Chatterer's plugin.cfg file to change the icon's x,y position if another mod is blocking it. Or ask the maker of MCE to make its icon relocatable as well. The Chatterer icon has defaulted to this position for months before MC even existed and I'm not going to go moving it around every time a new mod comes along and covers it up.
-
Somethings not right when I encode them. I can decode them back to image okay but nobody else can. Until somebody who knows what they are doing offers me some proper ones, that's what we got. Also... Download links to new version 0.5.8 posted to the OP. Wind added. Soundscapes are optional download. Other new sounds can also be removed wholesale or individually.
-
Can you include a log file? This is way too vague to troubleshoot effectively.
-
There are a lot of large new audio files included now.
-
Chatterer 0.5.7 download link now up in the OP. Have a try and let me know what's good, what sucks and what else should be added. If you find a bug please include a log file with your post. "It doesn't work. Fix it" is not going to get you anywhere.
-
Posted the code for that last time this came up. Didn't get much traction.
-
Howdy. I only intend to incorporate the EVA breathing and atmospheric wind from this fine plugin into Chatterer. I expect a new version with these and a few other new features to be ready in a week day or two.
-
The word is patience. I don't have much free time but I'm trying to do a little bit every day.
-
I hope you do try it. It adds some nice flavor to the game. The info plugin I use is VOID. I never leave the launchpad without it.
-
I think so. I de-amplified a lot of them but I'm sure I missed a few. I'll fix it some time if no kind souls take it upon themselves to do some small audio edits. *nudge nudge* SSTV isn't encoded correctly either, if anyone wants to improve those. *nudge nudge nudge nudge* Career mode is the big reason power usage is gone. With the capsule always using some power, we can consider the comms is powered from that. I like the soundscapes in Muziker much more than anything in Chatterer, personally. For those who don't like it, I'm trying to make it as easy as just-delete-the-soundscapes-folder and Chatterer will have just the original stuff and no extra audio load time (it's only about 10-15 seconds, so nothing for those who have gigantor parts packs already).
-
Certainly. I'll start looking around for some audio for that.
