  1. Tried it out? I find its still quite hard to land. Has interesting quirks in its behavior (they can be worked around mind once you figure out what it does) The simplest way to make a better behaving one is use the smallest rocket engine instead for the better response times.
  2. Having a look I see what you mean. Its like those two aircraft were spliced together. To be honest, I don\'t actually look at any reference building these, but just use them for inspiration. ;P (hence a-like!) Also found this image of a DC-3 looking up what it should have looked like - http://www.thedc-3network.com/images/airshows.jpg (yes i knew they had 2 engines, i just don\'t like the standard 1m cone when mated to the large cockpit!)
  3. Because Otherwise I can see myself making a new thread every few days, so instead gonna go with just making one thread and rolling it on here. So first things already uploaded in other threads - Hoverjet2 -stock Key features - 45 degree incidence stubby wings and vertical engines. Essentially flies somewhat like a helicopter. Need to adjust throttle a second before you think you have to for landings, or you will die! video below F4U Corsair a like, (Canberrafold.craft) -damnedaerospace -damnedrobotics -fixedcameramod Key features- Flies absolutely great. Needs about half Trim toward pitch down to fly level by itself, but it is very stable and very maneuverable. Has cameras placed in really neat places, and is entirely flyable on inside view without using the HUD. video below DC-K Big, 3 prop engined -damnedaerospace -damnedrobotics Key features- Large but maneuverable and stable aircraft. Requires the trim to be adjusted at any time the throttle is adjusted due to its engines not being on the centerline. Otherwise however, flies much like the Corsair - while being 3 times the size. This is the first big plane I\'ve built with extremely dependable landing performance, it glides wonderfully. (No Video - PC would melt if I flew this thing and used Fraps, plus no time at the moment for it!) DC-K2 -damnedaerospace -damnedrobotics Key features More fuel and better looking version of DC-K, produces slightly less thrust however due to being 2 not 3 engined. Flown on 2/3rds thrust at 6500m though it can make it to KSP2 with a whole tank of fuel to spare, and was my first aircraft to make it there- Landing pictures! Not having an actual runway at KSP2 makes it a real bugger. Seemed I\'d landed perfect safely ... till I hit a bump. > I\'ve built a lot more planes, but thats my faves so far. I thought I was meant to be making spaceships in this game. Meh
  4. Now to build the rocket that gets the Kerbals to the command capsule! =P
  5. 594) When your rocket does this straight off the pad. Even in NASA, some people forget to check the staging order.
  6. Think you\'ve got a critical mission failure there lol
  7. haha, whoops! Fixed now, thanks for that!
  8. Not any more sadly, but I have turned down the sound in KSP for next time I can be bothered to do running commentaries. I don\'t really like doing the spoken stuff so much though anyway, so its usually onscreen text.
  9. Now I know I just made another thread recent, but this come out absolutely wonderfully. This needs the Fixed Camera Mod, DamnedAerospace and DamnedRobotics to work. Camera mod is just wonderful isn\'t it? I\'m not sure if the propeller used from the DamnedAerospace has much to do with it or not, of if its just that I try to get the balance as good as possible, but this thing flies just fantastic, as can be seen in the video. Great fun plane to fly.
  10. I had a go doing this for rocket cars trying to get maximum speed. Found the solids the fastest but also a total nightmare to not roll over! Anyway, Rocket sleds are great. I haven\'t made enough of them.
  11. .craft added, turns out I hadn\'t messed with it and it still flies good! one peice of advice though, pulling up will slow you down, but it\'ll also make you drop like a stone! I\'d imagine similar designs might be popular because they are simple to build, just annoying to configure. Strangely, this one was right straight off the bat. I\'ll have another upload in a few days, just been messing with a few modpacks including fixcamera, damnedaerospace and damnedrobotics, and made one kickass little plane in it. That\'ll be up once I\'ve edited the video to go with it. 8)
  12. fiddling around with vertical take off rockets, I found out that the wings however shoehorned into the game they are, do exhibit real effects with regards to lift and angle of attack. Therefore it for some reason inspired me for how to built a pretty sweet VTOL. Essentially angled wings assist with getting a good foward speed, and giving a tad more lift on landings with forward speed. It flies unbeleivably forgivingly, but is pretty tricky to get fine control with when you come in for landing. (so oddly, the easiest yet most difficult to fly thing I\'ve made perhaps.) The video is somewhat inspired by - well if you know this style you\'ll know. Otherwise you\'ll think me strange ??? I may possibly have overwritten the save of the best working version of this, but I could upload if there is enough interest perhaps.
  13. Current Space Engineering Student reporting in! This game is the biggest distraction from my studies I could ever see. Well, I\'ve come here for mods, challenges, and to share some videos. I\'m not sure if I should post them here, or in the showing off your creations section. If you happen to have over9000 years though, you could watch the lets play video I did for an idea of how I do things. I\'ve also got two short flight videos on other things I made I\'m quite pleased with. I have gone to the mun, minmus, and all that, but making simple rockets just isn\'t as much fun, is it? so, hello!
