ehhh i kinda hope that they dont. i mean right now things like the archs are these bizare formations, could they be something of another life's creation? or are tehy just absolutly bizzare natrual formations? maybe gaining an achievment for finding them, but honestly, i like easter eggs like this that just exsist, that you can just happen to fall upon. it adds reason in itself to explore, adds to teh mystery of the stars.

Yes, i respect that you want to RP, but please dont do it here, it really is just starting to come off as a "look at me, i can be loud adn everything is mine"

(stock 0.16) osprey VTOL series (WIP)
opticalshadow replied to zapy97's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
it woudlnt be stock, but damned robotics has plenty of tools for rotating and tilting and such. -
when my finances improve abit im deffinitly buying more copies, i may give them away on a youtube contest, or at a local gamestop i frequent, i want to donate both with my cash, and with a playerbase. thsi game is truely one of the best ones i have, better then alot of AAA titles. as far as DRM is concerned, im glad SQUAD has taken a stance against it, it truely is a terribly flawed design, it will never work, its about as effective as locking your door to stop a burgler. it wont keep anyone who really wants to get in from doing so, its only going to stop the people who knock anyways. and i cant tell you how many games i returned same day just because it had stupidly complicated DRM. SPORE for example, ive never played, i had it, discovered the mess of a DRM it had, and it went back, its a thing on principle.

[PLUGIN, PART, .16] Zoolotac EscapePod v1.2
opticalshadow replied to Zool's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
i can get the pod to function and i take control, but when i decople, all parts attached to the new pod dissappear, i cant access the endines or anything, ive tried decoupling from the new pod and the old one and i cant seem to get past this, any ideas? -
i really hope you do, i persoanlly love options, even if i dont use them all, i like knowing i have them, one set of landing gear makes sense, but i wouldnt mind having gear that moves diffrently, or some longer landing gear, to keep the ship farther off the ground. and while i love tosh's cart, i would love some stock rover parts.
-
kerbal wise, id say that mission went quite well.
-
i cant get my kerbal thrusters to work, is their some kind of trick?
-
If I buy the game do I get all future updates free?
opticalshadow replied to geoffster1899's topic in KSP1 Discussion
the way i look at it is, if you buy this version, it helps ensure there are future versions to get -
right, the altered pods just carry the kerbanuts, it doesnt control the ship, you need mechjeb to do that (though you dont need the capsule with mechjeb, he can pilot the ship with no crew)
-
ahh thanks found it, seems i have to use mechjeb though with it if i want it to be controlable though. no biggie.

[Stock 0.16] Rockets, Jets and a Spaceplane
opticalshadow replied to Tarmenius's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
it might be costly pending on your build, but i found using rcs in conjuncture with sas prevents asparagus type ships from rotating in orbit. -
sas seems to be very usefil to me, in the launch stages, and the burn phases, to keep me on course. on final approach/landing, i typicall use precision control (caps) and do all of the landing manually (which i start at about 10,000m.
-
do i need a mod to have two capsules liek that so i can have a ship splint into two?
-
that would be awesome, id also love to have to make trips to keep it stocked up with parts and fuel.
-
yeah, orginally thats the best i could do aswell. but after watching those two videos, im able to get it right most times. it just took a little understanding of the mechanics and such, it makes alot of sense now. i dont really think orbits matter much for actual travel, but it does look nicer on the map. and its alot easier to meet up with other things in space with circular orbits for sure. really i think it was a simple first step to allow me to do some of these asesome things i see older members doing.
-
just want to say thanks for that vid link, slowly learning here, and the nav ball was somethign i wasnt 100% on, all my missions have been primarily from eye. makes a world difference.
-
lol yeah, first time i made it to the mun i slammed right into it, somehow the command capsule survived stranding my three up there. thankfully i had to kinda reinstall for .16 so i dont feel guilty about it now

When would I burn up IRL in proximity to Kerbol.
opticalshadow replied to Themohawkninja's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i know the kerbal way of findign out... -
the rocket i used in orbit atm has 2 1/2 tanks of fuel left, i think i over did it a bit with the fuel storage. dieselxrobot\'s circular orbit guide helped tremendously, id highly recommend it if you cant get it, i went from eliptical orbits like you describe to this, less then 1km of error cicular orbit in just one watch of his vid in the first try. the only thing he doesnt mention, that i found vital is to use the precision controls (caps toggle) otherwise its just all kerbal.
-
well you can do it with an elipitcal orbit just as you would a circular one, just wait for it to peak horizan then thrust. or you can do a jump stright to mun without and orbit, its really non efficient for fuel, but it can be done.
-
i havent been with KSP for long, only since the last version. ive been to the mun a few times, though no successful landings, and ive been in orbit, and put things in orbit, but its always been huge elliptical silly orbits. i was watching alot of videos today, deciding i was to make this work before i go any farther again. it might not be the biggest deal to some vets here, but for me, this is big. it means i can start redevue missions useing a chart i found on here, it means i can make space neater, and hopefully not as cluttered as my old persistence. in anycase its a 89km orbit, teh apo and peri and less then one km apart their both inside of 89, if i had RCS on me i could get it near perfect, though when i redid my design, i forgot to readd the tank. in anycase heres a pic of my glory!! i also feel credit is due to the videos i used to help me find out my problems. Kosmos\' tut helped me with the basics while dieselxrobot helped me with how to fine tune the final adjustments.

I downloaded and took a few shots for you, hope you dont mind! is a beast to fly, took me a sec as i was use to flying my smaller planes lol. only thing i see, it could use some struts from the wings to the main body to stop the flopping effect.

First decent aircraft (stock 0.16)
opticalshadow replied to xvdBanksbvx's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
could you post the craft file pretty please with kerbal on top?
