you can sure use the new 3.5M parts to make even bigger asparagus, why not

Live coverage of Antarctic annular eclipse starts soon
sickboy replied to PakledHostage's topic in Science & Spaceflight
eh thanks man, gonna check it out. Gotta love people on those forums, keep pointing me into the direction of cool live streams of stuff, launches, eclipses -
looks like the batmobile from the Nolan films, if the batmobile was covered in solars.
-
I love to have all that debris around, I never really hit it since my parking orbit 75 KM and anything I'm leaving in orbit for longer than 1 orbit is gonna be higher than that, odds of me hitting a debris there is quite unlikely. I don't have as much on my current save but on my previous one if I was at 75 KM altitude or nearby, I could usually always see a gray losange from some other ship from before. Always nice to see one piece and be like: "oh yeah I remember that craft, I went to duna with it" or something.
-
no, it can be recovered but you gain nothing from it. Sadly I had a class B landed relatively close to KSC but I tried to recover it for science, Had I know I'd have kept it and found a way to move it to KSC and build a monument
-
first time was the whole 24 hr marathon stream, which usually would predate the update by a few days, a bug came up, they couldn't release, some peeps got mad.
-
well... that's a bummer... seems like you need to learn some self-control... You little bugger you!
-
Oh that Is really cool man, thanks for that, although it may not be in the right forum

Don't cry, the community is rebuilding him. Better, stronger, faster!
-
This community is beautiful, I'm broke as hell or I'd offer my help but. Now Whackjob, I haven't been as involved in this community as most people, but I lurk around a lot but I couldn't help but notice you. You've inspired me to build crazy stuff and I know you've inspired many others. I never thought I'd often have more fun trying to get a crazy contraption that is overbuilt and makes absolutely no sense than bringing a simple spaceship to another planet. You're a big part of this community and if people are willing to help you stay a part of it, you should know it's totally not just charity, we need our whackjob around!
-
kind of the same for me, I played the game but couldn't fly to other planets, let alone rendez-vous with something I can't see on the map mode... I missed my chance and I hope it returns, although I'm gonna compensate by messing with asteroids
-
Well since you can claw ANYTHING... It may make it "easier" to build bases on planets without mods than using docking ports. But more importantly, I'm gonna be able to go grab spent stages in orbit and bring them down into the atmosphere. Of course I won't do that with EVERYTHING as that would be very time consuming but I often end up with lots of big orange tanks flying around my stations, I'll clear those up so I don't crash into them when I come in to dock stuff

Which would you rather have FIRST?
sickboy replied to agentexeider's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If given the choice, multiple star systems, i have 0 interest in multi-player, If i want to blow up other people's ships I can play Eve or space engineers. And as far as doing stuff WITH people, apart from helping each other on a space station I hardly see the point. Now for multiple systems, It's gonna be hard, Can you imagine the time it would take to send a ship to another system with the parts we have? let alone orienting yourself in there to get anywhere. -
one of the, if not the, only game i still play avidly after years of playing, so yeah, highly deserved

Mother of god
-
happens to me a little bit, but definitely not in the 10,000 range
-
back before the mun, not sure of the version exactly but it was mostly just a crew cabin with a bunch of solid rocket boosters, blew up a few feet off the ground, it took off though so it's a successful first flight!
-
now that you're speaking of that though it really makes me think that the game could use some pre-built ships, either for those that like flying more than building or for the newer players that are seeking inspirations, could make a bunch of ships designed for a whole bunch of purposes, lots of them on the spacecraft exchange but most of them use mods and it feels like a good pack of ships in the game already would be nice for newbies to get into and see how you're supposed to go about building stuff
-
I don't know how it seems to happen so frequently to some of you, i have my max debris at 250, currently i got about 150 debris, i'd say about 140 of that around kerbin and never saw more than that gray little square thing telling me it's thousands of meters away
-
What is the absolutely first game you remember playing?
sickboy replied to 11of10's topic in The Lounge
probably super mario bros on the nes or some caveman game whose name escapes me, also on the NES -
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not as good at real physics than Kerbal's but to enter our SOI and somehow get into orbit around Earth, wouldn't that asteroid need to enter our atmosphere, a-la-aerobraking? that could be very bad depending on it's size
-
odds are, if it can take off, it can land, it's just a matter of trying to keep your horizontal speed around 100 mp/s or slower, but not too slow because you want your vertical to be real slow, try to touch with your back wheels first. Gotta alternate inbetween cutting your engine and turning it on at like 10% thrust
-
as inefficient as they may be, this rocket gets 20000 points for badassness, just imagine a night launch, it's like a flying christmas tree
-
Is there a song that seems to be a theme for your Kerbals...?
sickboy replied to Fizwalker's topic in KSP1 Discussion
hiiiiiighway to the danger zone! -
yeah, sadly i don't send kerbals on another planet if i don't know i can get them back, i'm not super good right now at in-orbit building so something that can get to laythe, land and return is out of my reach... for now...
