Here in Britain, and in New Mexico, it is past 12pm. If it is April Fool's, not only will I be really hacked off but they will have broken the April Fool's rules anyway!
-
Yup, that's the real one.Yeah, it is. I follow them and they are official, trust me!
Must be an April Fool's joke then...
EDIT: WAIT! I bet banning the letter "K" was supposed to be a part of the release announcement and someone pulled the trigger too soon. So they backed it out as quickly as possible. When you see "K"s go away again, resume your suspicions!!
-
Okay, I made my feelings clear about this sort of thing in the other thread. Pumping this much excitement without release is so frustrating, they better have meant that when they were tweeting that!
Is that even the official KSP twitter account? I know that's MaxMaps' real account, but I don't recognize @KerbalSpaceP.

If you compare the timestamps on those tweets to the timestamp on the previous version designator on SteamDB, they're within half an hour (assuming west coast US time). Perhaps the build was approved and all we're waiting for is distribution.
EDIT: Correction; the tweets seem to predate the SteamDB change by about two hours.

does anybody know what the big bug that is causing the delay is, I asked during lolbster's stream and he didn't know :|
Obamacare.
-
I'm suspicious now.
The scratchpad upload happened almost immediately after I posted that Steam had gone 20 hours without an update. That was also about the same time all of the "K"s changed.
EDIT: And Lincoln's secretary's name was Kennedy. And jet fuel doesn't burn hot enough to liquidize steel. And you never see Batman in the same room as Iron Man.
-
Well, they seem to have blocked the letter K. Look at the rules, 2.2i.
Just checked. Don't see a 2.2.i. Ends at 2.2.h.
EDIT: It was just a diversion. Quick, everyone check to see if ARM has been released!

Is anyone else having all of their "*s" replaced with asteris*s? Or is there a problem with my mobile browser?
EDIT: this is the first scratchpad upload that has a file size as near as I can tell. I don't *now if that actually changes anything or if more display options of the history trac*ers have been enabled.
NOPE. Its 1st April..No patch today.
Well. It was tongue-in-cheek. So. You know. But, that being said, I'm still 100% sure that this is how they would announce the release: by replacing all of the Ks with *s.

Or Fs, or *s, it's weird.Edit: Appears to be forum wide.
It's happening!! This is how they announce it!!

What are Scratchpad updates, anyways?
In general terms, it's where you upload things that are not intended to be downloaded (even by your testers). Most often it's for changes to be reviewed by devs. Scratchpad is for devs to test. Experimental is for testers to test. Release is for players to test.
I don't *now what it means in Steam-specific lingo.
-
Crap. Back to scratchpad uploads.
EDIT: Actually, no... it's the first time the scratchpad upload size matched the experimental upload size.
DOUBLE EDIT: Nevermind. There's a small change in the file size. The scratchpad is not the same size as the experimental. In my mind, this is equivalent to "back to the drawing board".
TRIPLE EDIT: All three are up on the scratch pad. I wonder if this is a test deployment. So confusing. The file size change is tiny (40bytes).
QUADRUPLE EDIT:
Branches
NAME DESCRIPTION BUILD ID PASSWORD
scratchpad 225089 Yes
experimentals Exp Testing branch 224329 Yes
Yeah, the buildID on the scratch pad is newer. I don't think that's a good sign. Not sure though.
This is about as useful as reading tea leaves.

20 hours without any uploads to the Steam database. I'm hoping that this is promising news!
-
Nice troll, but seriously, don't troll
It's April Fool's day. Great ready for A LOT off this.
-
anymore updates/news??
It's been released. I think the biggest delay was their new digital rights management system. Turns out the download option for 0.23.5 is hidden if you've ever pirated music or lied on your taxes.
-
Huh, that's a lot of Devs online... But I doubt anything will happen...
I only see one.
-
You tripleposted, the edit button is there for a reason.
Also c-c-c-c-c-c-combobreaker.
Edit: Double ninja!? Poop.
Edit2: Pockrt: Steam change log, http://steamdb.info/changelist/449201/
I know double and triple posting is a faux pas but edit doesn't seem to work in my mobile app. So just accept this fourth post as an apology.

And another ten minutes after that.
Expecting one more...
And there's the third.
-
Another experimental uploaded ten minutes ago.

so......will there be biomes on other planets yet? i want my duna ice cap fluff text
Hasn't been discussed, so it doesn't seem likely.
Or, rather, it seems exactly as likely as all of the other features they haven't mentioned yet.
-
Yup. I see three new experimentals in the last hour.
-
Aww. Part of me is actually disappointed. I liked the idea of kerbals considering four rotations of their planet one calendar day.
Four simultaneous days in the TimeKube?
-
Sigh. Starting to sound like a real software project.
Merge the trunks.
