Im pretty sure the devs have said the idia is to get rid of the luanch tower because it gets in the way with big rockets, epescialy now we have luanch clamps.

With regards to the supposed 0.17 picture arnt you not supposed to see that many stars when your on the light side of a celestial body because you can on that pic, and they did have a problem with the new star map showing up brighly in the day. also a comparison, this is the current one.

Theres a picture of a ship thats close to kerbal with the new texture with a solar flare, though nova said the textures been changed since this pic.

If it was a guess why would he correct someone for putting the desert planet after kerbin.

Yeah he was talking about how atmosopheres without oxygen wouldant work with jets so he wanted to add propellers for planets without oxygen but with an atmosophere.
