  1. From just looking at them they seem to be a slightly bigger Medium wheel, but I haven't really had a chance to try them out yet. If what their description says about "extra grip" is true then I guess they could be useful on super-low gravity moons (like Minimus & Ghilly)
  2. Yeah, I'm hoping this gets a .20 update as well, this is one of my favorite KSP mods.
  3. Why the heck was all this re-formating necessary in the first place? as far as I can tell it's only reason to exist is to aggravate anyone who used mods. I've spent about an hour now trying to get all the mods I normally use to work, with no success whatsoever. Heck, if what you say is correct, and all Plugin-related files go in the "GameData" folder then, why is there a Plugin folder in the KSP folder? that's just deliberately misleading.
  4. The Orange Tank was full, still floated.
  5. How did you do that? I tried making a similar craft but in my case the Orange tank still floated.
  6. Personally I just built my non-atmospheric Rover with it's own engines that it uses to de-orbit and land under its own power (and fuel left over can be used for jump jets) and just use parachutes for my atmospheric one.
  7. Launching from Kerbin into space, simply because you can't timewarp (without your rocket turning inside-out, anyway.)
  8. I admit I don't know much about astronomy/astrology/whatever, but wouldn't a (potentially) life-bearing planet orbiting a Gas Giant spend half its time in an ice age due to said Gas Giant being between it and the Sun during that time?
  9. I think it'd take about 10 reactors to run 1 Ion engine non-stop. You'd be far better off using Gigantor XXL Solar Panels instead.
  10. Sadly for poor Bob, it looks like low gravity alone won't help his weight.
  11. I like how you used the micro-legs as a roof, that's really clever (may have to try that myself)
  12. Kerbals can fix Rover Wheels (and possibly Solar Panels?) and the command pods have more Torque, but that's about it. I personally gave up on using Kerbals quite a while ago, since Probes are lighter (even factoring in the reactor & batteries) and it's easier to send a rocket somewhere when you know it never needs to come back.
  13. A picture or two of the rover might help us work out the problem a little better.
  14. And for Debris with no docking ports, I've seen at least two rockets that have make-shift giant claws built onto the end for grabbing debris.
  15. Yeah, the infinite-glide thing is an old bug (though I don't think anyone's done it with quite this much style)
  16. On the subject of Planet names, could Eve's name come from how similar it is to Kerbin (similar size, gravity etc.)?
  17. Did you attach batteries to the Satellite? It might have run out of power, that's all I can think of. As for the signature thing, click "Settings" in the top right corner. I believe you need to have a certain number of posts first (20+?) though.
  18. I'd say 10% watching a Let's Play of the game and learning from the mistakes the person doing it made, 15% asking questions on this forum and 75% Trial-and-Error
  19. My 1.7-1.8 ton drone lander uses a set of 4 'ant engines' radially mounted via struts, that might be worth trying since I doubt that extra 0.01 tons will make much difference given how well said lander has worked for me.
  20. Have you tried using the structural panels as a body? using those you can basically make your rover as big or as small as you want by adding extra panels attached to the first one. Here's one such Rover I've made. It weighs a pittance (about 0.6-0.8) and works wonders. (sorry for the URLs, but IMG tags don't seem to work for me.) And if you want something that looks (and might even be) slightly sturdier, try attaching sideways rover bodies under each panel, like this (Stripped-down version showing how it's put together)
  21. That's kinda disappointing, but I suppose simulating the results of such an impact would probably be a bit beyond KSP (no offense)
  22. Actually, what would happen if you altered the orbit of a planet so that it hit another? That would be a "good" experiment Thanks for the link. Before I do anything weird though, do you know if the changes I made are save-specific or not? I don't want to have to reinstall KSP or something like that because I messed up the Solar System too much.
  23. I...what...how? That is incredible. What tool did you use to do that? (I might want to try it myself.)
  24. Does it have to be stock? I have a Rocket that might meet those criteria, but it needs the "RLA MMRTG" part/mod. It carries about 2 tons and has around 7200Dv (assuming max payload weight, with no payload it's closer to 8000Dv), though it doesn't turn all that fast. Haven't tried going to Jool yet, but I assume it could get there.
