  1. I like playing vanilla normal mode with reverts, because I can experiment with designs. And by doing so, of course after some trial & error (sorry Das ), you pretty much know what combination of fuel and engines to give the proper TWR... sans Kerbal Engineer. And I love doing manual ascents and landings, but still with SAS

    Spoiler Free?

I had that same thought Albert, but I also think this is due to a lack of in-game pop up help windows. I mean the tutorials are OK, but we all know they are lacking. And maybe it's Squad intention for new players to learn mostly from the community. On the other hand they may be planning to code all kinds of in-game help for the final release. Don't get me wrong, I discovered KSP at v.16 and I've loved playing along throughout it's evolution. But I also wonder what it would be like to come into it fresh for v1.0.
  3. I realize that at this point, it may be too late to be "spoiler free". But I was wondering how many of you will NOT be playing any of the updates from 0.90 till full release. I would like to think I could seclude myself from any further news, but I really don't know if I can... because I enjoy checking the forums and watching streams. Then there's the inevitable question, "why would you want to be spoiler free"? I mean, imagine if there was no open access these past few years, and 0.90 was the first time you were exposed to the game. btw, I pretty much expect zero people to say they are going spoiler free from here on out. Even if they said so I doubt they actually would.
  4. Perform a KSP social/marketing experiment. Have three or four T-shirts made, so you will have clean one to wear while washing the dirty ones... because you will need to wear it every place you go in public. Make the duration of the experiment like 30 days or something. And you must NOT be the one to initiate the conversation. Each shirt should have the same thing printed on it: ALL of those "I've" accomplishments. Data to be recorded: 1. total number of people who comment on the shirt 2. total number who recognize the shirt is about KSP 3. total number of compliments received from those who recognize it's about KSP 4. total number who ask what the shirt is referring to 5. situational context when people make comments (i.e. at the mall, movie theater, restaurant, school, etc.) 6. appx age of person making the comment & whether male/female 7. geographic location (not too specific for privacy reasons) Use a voice recording app on your smartphone or whatever to record the data... however, it's probably best to wait till you are away from each person before recording the results.
  5. off topic... The Munrise burn is still the only method I use for Mun missions. It just seems, idk... more elegant.
  6. Occasionally in our universe there are splits, or forks, in the spacetime continuum which produce an alternate reality. It is the nature of these splits that they often go undetected by most humans. However sometimes they are recognized by a minority of the population. For example when the band KISS started using the makeup again, but substituted other musicians in place of Peter & Ace. Another example of this phenomenon is the selling of the Star Wars franchise to Disney Studios. Well it has happened again... when Squad decided not to use a K-word for the Kerbal currency.
  7. Actually, there is... the little yellow triangle indicates the non-docking side.
  8. First of all... I just finished reviewing this entire thread, and there are some amazing creations here! Secondly... I built my station before discovering this thread, so I'm feeling more than a bit humbled right now. As you can see, my KSS is pure vanilla (no mods). I wanted to approximate the current ISS config... however, about half way through assembly the all too familiar laaaag set in. So forgive me Razorcane , I opted to leave out a few components: PMA's, cooling radiators, Russian docking/mini-labs, external logistic platforms. The two Mk1-2 ships are my version of the Soyuz; the ship docked behind Zvezda is my version of the Jules Verne ATV. The orbit is 51 degrees inclination, but I went with 250km altitude instead of converting to miles.
