How do you get your Kerbals to Duna?
caba111 replied to SpaceLaunchSystem's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Nope. The delta v requirements to get to Duna are not much greater than the Mun. You should be able to assemble something that can get there in one launch. -

Cannot Launch From VAB or SPH
caba111 replied to caba111's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Ah, sorry about that. I was moreso wondering if it was a known issue. Let me grab the right information. Actually, on second thought, I'd better troubleshoot this myself. It's probably a mod conflict... -
Cannot Launch From VAB or SPH
caba111 posted a topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Whenever I hit the green button the VAB or SPH (or the exit button), nothing happens. I can build ships in the VAB and launch stocks ships directly from the launch pad, but I can't exit the VAB or launch ships directly. Is this a known issue? Any simple fixes? EDIT- The issue seems to have been with one of diazo's mods. Resolved. -
10g? That's nothing. I think Jeb's survived at least 12g on my current save.
-
All systems are go for launch. (I seriously love ambient light adjustment). I'm 90% sure this mission was a flop, but still...
-
I love the look of that probe. You're using deadly reentry, yeah?
-
Sorry, but it's probably broken. Maybe you can backup the save file before you run the game?

How are your Kerbals handling the Kerpocalypse???
caba111 replied to sumrex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You've motivated me to bring my Kerbals home for 0.24... Good thing I only have two out there. -
The Official Kerbin Cup Tournament Thread - Final Entries Posted

Yeah, seriously! That was incredible. -
Here's a small base I made on top of the tall pointy mountain across from KSC (I'm calling it Black Mountain). The air is very thin at the top. It was a challenge to get even a few small modules up there. http://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=0Bw9IGvZWuHyNeEphOXNDbWxZeUU

Fun fact... the lander docks got into orbit with a ship missing two engines... I only realized after-the-fact. I was wondering why it couldn't fly strait. There should've been mainsails on the bottom of those tanks
-
Yeah... I want it to have a nice, sci-fi utilitarian feel. I've also never actually build a mothership, or returned anything from a planet that's not the mun or minimus, so this should be interesting. The best part is, I've owned the game for nearly two years.
-
I got up one Saturday morning, and said to myself, "wow, it would be fun to build a big ship." And so, here I am today. The Alpaca One is currently divided into four sections... The science laboratories and probe bay (or A1 sec. 1) clocking in at a rather excessive 253 parts (yes, I DO need 8 probes... Obviously) The lander docks (equipt with 6 capable low-grav landers) clocking in at a ridiculous 340 parts The fuel section (launched mostly empty) clocking in at a reasonable 160 parts and finally The engine section at only 46 parts! I'm thinking that I might need to launch at least 2 of the fuel sections, and maybe more engines. Depending on where I choose to send it (at first, most likely the mun), I may need to retrofit some atmospheric probes and landers. First Launch (sorry, not too many pictures) Second Launch First Two Modules Docked
-
I'm going to have to go with this little beauty. It's basically a rocket where the engines are mounted at the top and most of the fuel at the bottom. It's more-a-less asparagus staged. The empty tanks simply drop off the bottom instead of the sides. It was stable enough to get those probes to Laythe :/
-
The thought of it makes me laugh.
-
I may just keep poor Jeb around. He only died in the first place because I foolishly 4x time-warped in the atmosphere with FAR installed. His rocket just kinda imploded. It was more of an unfortunate bug than a fitting death for our brave hero. I see his rebirth as a second chance, If you will.

Some of you may remember my thread from a while back about Jebediah's memorial. (This one http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/63901-Quick-question-where-to-memorialize-Jeb) So I was moving my crane into position to transport the memorial to it's final resting place (next to the MK1 pod)... And who do I see driving? No... It can't be... Seriously? Jebediah is one cheeky *******. I MAY have forgotten to set crewsrespawn to 0.
-
Yeah.. I think that's what I'll do.
-
Alright, so I killed Jeb. Again... I'm looking for a good place to put his memorial. This is it: My ideas are either on top of the VAB or near the recruitment building. Thoughts?
