  1. If thats the case then I just want to say that I don't have an issue with this forum. I like this forum and the people here. I just feel like it has gotten more negative. I don't want to hate on anyone and I don't want it to seem like the reddit for the game is the only place someone should be going. I am seriously sorry if the way I wrote my posts contributed to more negativity on the board. Wasn't my intent. The game has issues the same way anything has issues and calling this 1.0 has lead to a lot of heated discussion. I seriously didn't mean to upset anybody.
  2. Like I said in another post. I don't think it is the majority of people on here. I just think that some people have more fun on here being trolls. edit: I don't think my tone is coming across very well in the text.
  3. I agree on the issue of craft flipping on reentry. I had to totally change the way I build my space craft. I can't rely on being able to bring down the science jr anymore as it is so light I end up leading with the capsule and losing my parachute or other parts. I have been either transmitting and ditching them or finding a way to bring them down separately. Once I get smaller probes I should be able to handle that much easier.
  4. Maybe we just got too popular. Started attracting the wrong crowd. There seems to be a contingent of people on the internet that just love to complain or be cynical. They move from one community to another slowly sucking the life out of it like they are some kind of vampire. For them the forum is primary, the game is secondary.
  5. You get real. I never said anything about this being the worst place on the internet. Hell, WoW's community got almost as bad as this by the time it was out of beta. Just because their are worse offenders doesn't mean that this forum is all sunshine and roses. The majority of people here are great. They like talking about KSP, rockets, space exploration, etc... Thats all cool. Unfortunately there is a minority of users that post A TON that are super negative. I don't like reading it so I switched to the reddit which is more positive.
  6. I've stopped coming to this forum for the most part because the members here went from being one of the best communities I've seen in gaming to a bunch of complaining, entitled, little ....s that can't say a nice thing about anything. They hate this game. I don't know why they play it or visit the forum. The clearly hate the game. Nothing could have been released today that would have pleased them. Literally nothing. r/kerbalspaceprogram on reddit is much better. Posts about real problems get upvoted for discussion but the real negative crap just gets downvoted and you never really have to look at it.
  7. A few of my friends are just starting out in KSP and wanted some help with the basics so I created these videos to get a new player off the ground and help with things like building space stations and landing on the Mun. They are very basic so most of you old pros out there aren't really going to be shocked by the content but if you are new to the game or you have friends that are having some trouble with those first challenges that we all run into I think this video seies could help. Have a look and let me know what you think. I might have time to produce one more video before I leave the country for a little while. Any requests?
  8. Let me start off by saying that I was at work during most of the stream for Kerbalkon so if something like this was mentioned I didn't hear it and I haven't been able to find it in the forums or on reddit. Ok, The new lab module is going to allow us to get more science from our transmissions. That's really great and it is going to be the first time that there is a reason to have a station besides refueling and a few other very specific uses. The one failing I see here is that this is a one size fits all solution. The removes the need to build a complex station, it keeps us at skylab levels of complexity. I'd like to encourage ISS levels of complexity. What about a specialized lab? Use tweakable settings or make the separate parts so that we can launch labs that specialize in one field of science and get a bigger percentage of our total science. Maybe there are certain science points thatcan ONLY be earned through such a lab. For example, I could launch a weather lab. This lab could only improve results from certain sensors, lets say thermometer, barometer, and atmo-samlper but it would improve them beyond what a normal lab could. Then I would have a reason to launch more labs, house more crew, and collect more energy which would lead to a use for larger space stations.
  9. I'm with you. This is one of the main reasons to send Kerbals.
  10. My first series of rockets was the Ananke series. Took the place of a Mercury program. Ananke is the goddess of inevitability, compulsion, and necessity. I thought it was a pretty fitting name for the first stage of my program.
  11. I failed to understand exactly how the Kethane mod works and sent three massive (for me) rovers to Duna that were supposed to mine and process kethane as well as burning it for power and house my kerbal crew on this long mission. The trucks were all odd loads but I managed to design some unique delivery craft to bring them to the surface. After days of prep and a night spent streaming the resulting landings I then realized that I had not assembled the Kethane parts correctly and I would not be able to burn kethane for power. Sad sad day.
  12. I'll be attempting to launch more heavy equipment to Duna, hopefully starting with my reusable lander for the ground crew. Come hang out in the chat, tell me how crap my rockets are, marvel at my amazing Duna kethane train, laugh at my feeble language skills while I wait for my coffee to kick in! Stream will be starting any minute and running till my wife wakes up and tells me to log off and take her to breakfast.
  13. About to start my stream today. Going to be doing a quick visit to both moons of Kerbin in one launch and then sending probes to Duna or Eve, Haven't really decided yet. Always willing to take suggestions as well. Come hang out in the chat. www.twitch.tv/cnstcasualty
  14. Join me for a stream on space planes. Should be plenty of crashes and dumb ideas to poke fun at. http://www.twitch.tv/cnstcasualty
  15. Landed the first of my heavy kethane mining equipment on Duna. Three crazy landers to bring down three very different craft. Learned a ton about large rover delivery.
