  1. You really need to work on the textures so it actually looks like a part from KSP. At present they're very bland and crude, even a color matching would strongly improve their aesthetics. Great concept, and I encourage you to keep at it! I noticed you haven't updated in some time, may I suggest if you want more motivation modding that you message a few other modders and get in on a team project? There's quite a few going!
  2. I ... I don't get it? It looks like he used an English translator that botched it, you know how translators like to translate to Chinese then back to English just to make sure you totally don't understand a friggen thing they're saying? Also, the chassis, add an anchor point at the rear and release an additional chassis without the weird middle bulkhead so that it can be used as a flat bed and attached as a trailer to the rover. That way people can tandem their trucks.
  3. ORDA docking mod: "The fuel transfer system will allow you to transfer fuel from one ship to another if you are within 50m. To use it you'll have to connect a fuel line with one of your Kerbals. Just float next the "FT"-Box, press g for grapple, float to your target fuel tank and press g again. It'll then show a transfer-GUI in the ship with the FT-Box. Use the same procedure to remove the fuel line. Unfortunately it's only a LineRenderer now... it would be great to render it as a real fuel line." The reason I won't touch the kethane pack with a ten foot pole is that everything we're doing here is striving for realism, then there's friggen laserbeams shooting magical kethane from one ship to another. I can't rationalise it, my imagination only extends so far. But here lies a solution! The ORDA docking mod fixes your issue, and gives you a snazzy hose and a reason to clone kerbals and keep them in a Mun base for three years or until their teeth fall out.
  4. There is no such thing as a Soyuz rocket. It's a Vostok. Soyuz is the capsule / orbital delivery system, it's actually what many of us were hoping was in the pack. I died a little on the inside when I realised it was a Vostok with some custom invented lander. :'(
  5. I have no idea why OP decided to wreck his mod by fudging the numbers. I just edited them to be comparable to other stuff (not game breaking, although a little more powerful so I can use it for my deeper space shots) and it works flawlessly. You should be asking why OP isn't fixing the values so people don't have to fix them themselves.
  6. A few additional make-or-break elements you need to incorporate: 1. Docking mod, steal an open source one already on the forums, incorporate it into a few male and female docking parts, some for rockets, some for shuttles, etc. 2. Parts, solar panels (moar) that move, ANTENNAE, DISHES (these two are super important!), i 3. Incorporate Zoxygene and Electricity mods. 4. Make some parts bulkheads, adapters, and skins. I currently house my Zoxygene and Electricity mods in a 1-3 meter adapter, a 3 meter bulkhead, attach my crap to the bulkhead, then skin it in the half walls so it has lines and matches the rest (albeit it's white so it sticks out a bit) then bulkhead and adapter to finish the look of it being a 'module', fits in flawlessly, I'd recolor it myself (those parts, renamed) and give it to you but I don't know how. 7. Hah, tricked you. It's really 5. add some stuff that gives it a purpose. Use other peoples mods. Allow fuel exchange. 6. Make a nice dock just for a perma-docked Soyuz ODS. I currently use an Odin, then I jerry rig a Zoxygene drill bit on an explosive bolt on the side so it looks like a fuel/elec/air line mounting, along with one of those decouplers which are two rings with exposed metal zig zagging between them. All space stations have an evacuation vehicle aboard. 7. The real seven. Payload management, using remote control, allow the movement of individual delivery modules so we can send stuff back to Kerbin. 8. Stuff to do, experimental modules, things that take time to complete (simply have a bar that runs up to 100% over time) that require things like a solar panel, a radiator panel, a nucular reactor (PLEASE recolor the existing one so the gold foil wrap looks gold) and **** that we can add into the element in 4. (or at least make it a size we can make the above explained module to house, so varying sizes). Make the experimental modules a size that fits inside the current used shuttles (Odyssey and Intrepid, I believe.) so we can deliver them and deorbit them either using the payload management system, or using shuttles again. Thus the experimental modules will need to be able to be captured / docked with the space station, and detached from and grabbed by the shuttle. You may have to make a payload arm for the shuttle that uses cheaty automation to grab and load it and grab and unload / attach it. Experiments could include growing corn in space, anti matter / dark matter discovery, particle accelerators, how long a Kerbal can survive inside a 20 gallon drum full of snakes, all kinds of wonderful things. If you can attain even four of these eight things you will, without a doubt, have the most popular and in demand mod in this game. You are SO close to amazing success, but you seem to have lost a bit of steam. I truly hope these ideas help you continue you work. Your mod will, if you can complete all 8, become the only real purpose for playing this game besides the first few 'lol space' exploring dilly dallies (you have no idea how long I've wanted to use that in a sentence, damn that felt good, dilly dally.) and give us a reason to keep coming back to your page on kerbal.net! I hereby forfiet all claim of right to the above suggestions for free use to anyone willing to adapt such suggestions. I can explain any one of them in great detail should it be required. I am, however, keeping a few things to myself as I am looking for fellow developers to get together with to create 'The Reality Mod' which will hopefully work well with this chaps space station should he manage to hit six or seven of those eight suggestions, TRM will hopefully make this beta feel like a finished game with purpose, missions, and micromanagement (including fully functioning life support!) so stay tuned. In the interim, please provide adequate cheering, peer pressure, and begging that OP create the add on's I have suggested, especially reskinning the 3 meter adapter, bulkhead, and half walls so we can add other modules crap to our stations, and ESPECIALLY the experimental modules. That **** would be AMAZING.
  7. If it is it's not from Duna. The angles are off significantly. It theoretically could be an insertion burn, but to what, or why, well, that's irrelevant as it doesn't tell us anything besides 'this is an insertion burn' and gives us no concept of where. I think everyone is looking for something that isn't there, especially when the game developer already said there's nothing else there yet. Although that being said I could clearly be an employee of some dark secretive government laying low with a mission to throw you all off the path to the secret that my government of the USKR has already discovered that you KSA hippies are too weak willed to find. After all, you pussies use parachutes, I use self-destruct mechanisms. They weigh less.
  8. There isn't a lagrange point in this games physics engine? At least not in the conventional sense. That would be the neutral point between the gravitational spheres of influence of two celestial bodies. The second you're X distance from any planet you're suddenly in Kerbol's sphere of influence, not the neighboring planet like you would in reality.
  9. Why do people keep posting stuff like that? I've noticed it's primarily one guy, but I'm pretty sure having X amount of Kerbal's present will do SFA. Why would it? Do you think there's some kind of life detection system that requires four life signs? They can't even get Kerbin's gravity right with ships wobbling and falling all over the place, you really think there's some advanced life form detection system on Duna? I understand this is a cool little puzzle they've made for us, but folks, please, keep the conspiracy theories within the realms of reality. The official word is that there's an SSTV anomaly on Duna, that's the only SSTV and nothing further is intended by it besides it being an easter egg (yet!). We're done with the conspiracies on Duna, now we're trying to find the magic boulder. And as a dude said earlier on, please read the entire thread before expressing your revolutionary new unheard of tin foil hat theory because it's probably already been said!
  10. I love this stuff. Like OP's never pirated a film, ripped off a game, or otherwise impacted financially on families directly reliant on income from entertainment products they've pirated whereas the ego of some kid on the internet is clearly more worthy of respect and observing the rights of. LUNACY, I say. Lunacy.
  11. I find it hilarious when people who pirate things people's livelihoods are based on causing real economic harm to families the world over say "This is my mod, I reserve all rights, you're not allowed to even say it's name in public, yada, yada." The irony of it all is that you just know the preachy types are the ones who're running a pirated version of KSP to begin with.
  12. Someone needs to make a docking module mod so we can actually assemble things. THEN we'd be building stuff for colonization. :'(
  13. Tested thoroughly with Zoxygene module attached direct to cockpit with three kerbals on board, sped up time, waited one month. No zoxygene use. Battery was seperated by cross feed fuel connector to test whether the mod creator set the mod up properly (to cross feed) and depleted a tiny bit within the first second of 'launch' (never left the pad) and never went down any further. I ran similar tests in 0.16 before removing the mod, it appears that this is cosmetic only (random parts and HUD fluff) and has no purpose beyond that. If it used to function, it doesn't anymore and hasn't for a while. Could the mod creator please let us know what's going on? Edit your main post on this thread, keep us in the loop. Life support mods are an essential Squad themselves should be adding, but in the interim we need some purpose to this game!
  14. You're using your SSTV decryption program incorrectly. There isn't a 'second part', you've just malformed the transmission.
  15. Hello everybody. I'm an idiot. *double handed face palm* Blanked in shame, feel free to delete this mods. Couldn't figure out wtf people were thinking the sun was a planet, clearly my grasp of Kerbalese is lacking. >_>
  16. A few people have made some statements about the image; some are patently absurd. This has led me to believe that not everyone has understood the implication of the mysterious sound (actually a slow sequence television broadcast (SSTV) emitting from Duna) or the image. Heck, in my time writing this someone just said 'the three dots could represent three inner planets', well duh. The image appears to be a crude version of the plates that were included with the Pioneer series of deep space satellites, which can be found here: http://www.setv.org/jpgs/pioneer_10_plaque.gif On the right hand side we have Kol and three planets, to the left we have one planet segregated from the others. This brings two inferences however. If the planet is to be understood as laterally set aside from the rest of the Kolar system then it is the third planet, Kerbin. If it is to be understood that the planet is instead deducted from the planets depicted it is the fourth planet. We also have four humanoid (kumanoid?) creatures standing abreast, assumedly Duna's inhabitants or at least those who are transmitting the SSTV for us, assumably in the future, to find and decode. We also have a pyramid extending what appears to be a transmission to another planet that is slightly out of frame and not part of the Kolar system. I haven't explored much of this game, in fact, I only know of these anomalies because of this thread, but I would assume that there is a pyramid somewhere that is sending another SSTV signal? One could even guess that perhaps the device transmitting the signal IS a pyramid that is now underground given that we have Curiosity's mast under a meter or two of Duna soil now. If Curiosity is now, for it to be covered in that much soil we can assume would be thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years, thus working back for a pyramid of any reasonable size to be buried it would have to be millions of years old. The above paragraph is primarily inference, just as one would infer that clearly they had nuclear fusion capability as fissions half life (or even plutonium for rad iso power) would have died out and the transmission ceased. Just me brain farting, not actually what the developers had probably intended. The most curious elements besides the mystical missing planet (Perhaps we have neighbors living there, who knows! Although I doubt they'd be much worth contacting as even our own planet is pretty boring, in fact, we have collected all the living beings on our planet for our space program after all! (Seriously devs, stop being lazy, add some ****ing cities for us to crash into.)) is the weird symbol. It looks like a retarded 4. 4th planet? Surely it has a meaning or purpose, or it wouldn't have been included? Then on the flipside we have the ultimate possibility, "Watch, I'll add a random shape to this ****, it'll have those idiots guessing for MONTHS as to what it means, I bet they'll work it into all kinds of grand conspiracies!" from a cruel dev joke.
